Job Title: IT Architect

Job Location: 600 E. Lafayette Blvd. Detroit, MI 48226

Job Type: Full-time, 9am - 6pm, 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday

Duties: Participate in software architectural vision and strategy development, including environmental analysis, opportunity identification, value cases and technology innovation portfolio development. Develop architectural requirements at domain, project or portfolio level. Assists other Architects in working with software product, platform, and/or service owners and business leaders, when needed, to understand business requirements and help them understand how technology trade-offs influence strategy. Perform summary analysis of business and IT capabilities and may work with business peers to develop and present business capability models and roadmaps to facilitate discussion and decision making with stakeholders across the enterprise. Develops business capability models. Create and modify logical software designs and architecture by reviewing end-user topology, security, performance, and interoperability requirements. Evaluate options, risks, costs versus benefits, system impacts, and technology priorities in moderately complex situations Research emerging technology, competitive threats, deficiencies, and industry and market trends to assist in product development and/or operational support activities. Assist in developing technology recommendations, based on business relevance, appropriate timing and deployment complexity. Work on exceptions to software architectural standards at a specialized/portfolio level and escalates to the appropriate level for action. Assist with software post-implementation continuous-improvement efforts and in analyzing the current architecture to identify weakness and develop opportunities for improvements. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a closely related field of study and five (5) years of experience as a Sr. Database Architect, Data Architect, Database Architect, Data Modeler/Data Analyst/DataStage ETL Developer, Developer/Data Analyst Intern, Developer Intern, or closely related occupation. Employer will accept Seven (7) years of experience as a Sr. Database Architect, Data Architect, Database Architect, Data Modeler/Data Analyst/DataStage ETL Developer, Developer/Data Analyst Intern, Developer Intern, or closely related occupation in lieu of a degree. Also requires experience in the following:

• 5 years of experience in Multiple diverse software technologies and processing environments such as SQL, Big Data, Distributed file systems, and Relational Databases;
• 5 years of experience in IT and business/industry including architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management, and infrastructure planning and operations;
• 5 years of experience in data modeling, data analysis and data warehouse/data mart design;
• 5 years of experience in Strong Analytical problem-solving skills and advance proficiency using SQL;
• 4 years of experience in working with the big data and distributed file systems such as HDFS and DBFS;
• 2 years of experience in architecting end to end BI solutions using tableau or Qlik; and
• 2 years of experience in public cloud tools such as AWS or Azure.
