Role: IT Business Analyst

Location: Plano, Texas, USA

Role Description:

• Typically requires a minimum of 7+ years of applicable experience as a business analyst.
• As a Techno BA should have the ability to do data analysis, data mapping, solution design, and product owner.
• Should know requirements management and analysis, Business process analysis, documentation, and mapping, Process improvement and solution building.
• Quick learner and self-starter who requires minimal supervision to excel in a dynamic environment.
• Able to lead meetings, follow up, negotiate, and resolve ambiguity.
• Assists in building system specifications, analyzing the current state of systems, making recommendations for improvements, and acting as a subject matter expert.
• Solution Design - Demonstrates strong knowledge of software design & development best practices and general awareness of testing practices. Ability to document detailed design solutions for utilization by development and testing teams.
• Influences Decisions - Presents their own point of view with a clear rationale, facts, and figures from an underlying deep understanding of existing product capabilities. Clearly displays how their proposed solution or course of action is superior to other options by using facts/evidence to support it. Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Promotes Collaboration - Ability to partner with Line of Business, cross-functional teams, technology partners, analysts, developers, testers, and architects to design functional solutions. Go-to person for consultation in the organization for existing/future product builds and designs. Experience working with remote teams with excellent interpersonal skills; positive attitude; team player; flexible.
• Planning, Execution & Process- Actively participates in planning ceremonies; Has the ability to complete a task/story against plan/sprint commitment; Demonstrates working knowledge of Agile/Waterfall frameworks and scrum processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Motivated to work closely with other team members of varying levels of seniority and experience within a cross-functional team.
• Keen attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership and accountability for work
• Must have strong Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), Visio

Desired Skills

• Experience working with messaging platforms like IBM MQ or IIB would be big plus.
• Working knowledge of Event frameworks, design patterns, enterprise integration patterns, database solutions, REST, HTTP, MQ, JSON, XML, XSLT, and SOA.
• Basics in financial markets & banking operations
• Prior experience of working with globally distributed teams
• Agile-driven development. Prior Scrum Master and/or Product Owner experience or relevant certification e.g. SAFe
• Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) with a proven ability to deliver quality software to client standards and on schedule.
• Basic Experience with basic Unix commands, Splunk, reading logs.
• Basic Experience running SQL queries and working with databases. Basic understanding on banking & compliance management - Optional
