IT Business Analyst
Job Description
Job Summary:
The IT Business/Process Analyst's role is to document current state processes, gather future state requirements, produce process flows and translate business needs as it relates to delivering new ERP systems for Viterra US. This role will be expected to embed with the project's Operating Committees as well as the Project Teams delivering the work, teetering the line between business and IT.
Essential Job Functions:
- Elicit and document functional business requirements via discovery workshops, surveys, site visits and/or shadows.
- Construct process diagrams and workflows.
- Conduct business process modeling and generate applicable scenarios.
- Help to distinguish user requests from the underlying needs according to the project's business case. Apply objective prioritization models.
- Discover, organize, and clarify business needs and produce functional specifications for change.
- Communicate the details and value of features to the IT development team to ensure they understand the specifications.
- Assist in creating test plans and test scripts according to future state business process and system design.
- Coordinate with business units to test and evaluate the new or updated features.
- Perform quality assurance (QA) testing, as appropriate.
- Assist in the creation of end-user training material and marketing communications for the project.
- Ensure knowledge transfer of project to appropriate support teams.
- Strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills.
Other Job Functions:
- Assist the IT Project Manager in planning and organizing project deliverables, goals, and milestones.
- Support the development and execution of key change management activities, including communications and training.
- Any other additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required, degree in Business Analysis, Business Administration, Information Technology, Communications, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in Business Analyst, Process Analyst and/or Project Management or a similar role preferred
- Proficient in business/system analysis and/or quality assurance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely in oral, written, and presentation formats is essential.
- Aptitude to gather and interpret relevant data, analyze and document complex business problems, be a problem solver, motivate others and have some fun!
Special Demands:
- Frequent sitting at an office desk with computer for long periods of time.
- May require periodic travel to elevators/facilities in the United States and/or to the local Regina, Saskatchewan Viterra office.
