Reporting to the Vice President Information Technology and CIO, this leader serves as a key member of the Corporate Shared Services leadership team. Responsible for reviewing, implementing and monitoring all applications phases of information technology for the Steel Operations Leadership Division. This position is accountable for the Information Technology functions, which includes serving as the primary interface to the division. This role is responsible for coordinating the strategic Information Technology direction within the division and responsible for leading the applications development of the platforms within their group. Also, matching IT resources and priorities to deliver needed technology strategies. This individual coordinates across Valmont Industries IT groups to resolve information technology issues, support IT planning and provide enforcement of those standards. This position is also responsible for overseeing all assigned application certification and software of systems or platform applications within their group.

Essential Functions:• Select, organize, train, develop, and motivate a strong technical/team to assure high level of productivity, the best use of individual and group capabilities and appropriate career planning for all personnel• Develop and recommend the department budget, monitor approved divisional budgets, note deviations, and initiate corrective actions in order to control costs and report on Information Technology performance and planning efforts• Review and recommend relevant policies and procedures and assure their complete implementation to insure operational control and regulatory compliance• Provide direction in the use of Information technology for the corporation in terms of evaluating new and/or enhanced technologies, review plans and activities with the Business Units, and approve Information Technology plans and projects across the company before funds are released or contracts are signed• Evaluate new technical developments and investments (hardware and software) that will advance enterprise objectives. Apply ideas from other industries, situations, and companies to growth and market expansion.• Provide leadership in utilization of Information Technology throughout the corporation including significant coordination with the balance of the divisional or group leadership assigned to this person• Manage the application development, including key enterprise and divisional systems• Manage and provide appropriate resources for the approved information and communications systems and projects• Travel expectations 30% domestic and international with overnight stays

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):• Preferred Bachelor's Degree in business, computer science, engineering or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience or Associate's Degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or 15+ years of relevant experience• Ten years of IT professional level experience with a minimum of five years mid to upper management experience in IT with multiple ERP applications, most predominately QAD or IFS in a manufacturing environment• Must show a career track of progressive IT roles• Experience should include roles in deploying business applications and oversight of computer operations, programing, and system design• Able to travel globally - approximately 30%• Proven oral and written communication skills to clearly and concisely present information• Familiarity/expertise in Lean methodologies

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:• Master's degree• Experience with engineering technologies• Manufacturing experience and an understanding of manufacturing costs

Working Environment and Physical Efforts: Work is typically performed in an office setting. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. Incumbent must travel to Company locations worldwide. While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The incumbent is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
