A Brief Summary of This Position:
Valmont is seeking an IT Business Systems Analyst Intern to join the Corporate Shared Services App SOD & Data Privacy Team. The intern will assist team members with the planning, design, implementation, operation and maintenance of information privacy data mappings, sensitive data designations, segregation of duties (SOD) controls and security requirements for digital business platform applications. The intern will also learn the operation of 3rd party software, utilities and toolsets used to manage and implement information privacy, sensitive data designations and segregation of duties controls for digital business platform applications. Other requirements include learning the technical concepts of business application security structures, understanding how business application processes, functions, transactions and related master data can be controlled by security structures to support sensitive data designations, information privacy categorizations and SOD risks and controls.
Valmont's internship program mission is to provide a hands-on learning experience through project work, job shadowing, meetings and interaction with cross functional IT and business teams.
Essential Functions:
- This position reports to the Senior Systems Business Analyst - Data Privacy & SOD and has no reports or travel expectations
- Flexible schedule to be arranged by manager
- Ability to work between 10 & 25 hours weekly when school is in session, option to up to 40 hours weekly when school is not in session
- Assist with the implementation of 3rd party software, utilities and toolsets used to manage information privacy, sensitive data designations and segregation of duties processes and controls for digital business platform applications
- Assist with the analysis and standardization of security structures to achieve SOD, sensitive and privacy data control requirements across digital business platform applications
- Assist with the implementation and delivery of security, sensitive data and data privacy requirements to support digital business platform application upgrades, conversions, migrations and acquisitions
- Assist with the development and maintenance of sensitive data designations and SOD risk models supporting digital business platform applications
- Assist with the analysis of processes and functions to develop and implement privacy data mappings that align with information privacy controls for digital business platform applications
- Assist with the development and delivery of workshopping efforts for identifying, expanding or modifying SOD risk coverage or sensitive data designations for digital business platform applications
- Assist with SOD integration, sensitive data and data privacy controls, requirements and standards for DevOps processes supporting digital business platform applications
- Assist with the development of plans, documentation, templates and aids used to support the centralization and integration of security processes for digital business platform applications
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
- Undergraduate or graduate level standing pursuing a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in a relevant field, preferably with a background in information technology or data
- Ability to work between 10 & 25 hours weekly when school is in session
- Exposure to Microsoft Word, Outlook, Power Point and Excel tools
- Self-starter with ability to manage multiple priorities and desire to learn
- Ability to communicate and work well in a remote team environment
- Passion and integrity with the drive to excel, learn and deliver results
- Interest and aptitude in applying technology skills to systems and processes

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Work is typically performed in an office setting, however given the pandemic work is currently done remotely until further notification. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. No travel requirements for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
