Job Summary
Responsible for overseeing the IT Operations. Must display the strong technical aptitude needed to help staff solve their technical issues as quickly as possible. Must be able to thrive in the rapidly changing industry of information technology.
Essential Responsibilities and Metrics
- Establishing IT protocols, advising on suitable IT choices, providing technical support, and acting as a link between end users and higher-level support.
- Install and configure software and hardware, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot issues. An IT Coordinator must have extensive knowledge of software, hardware, and networks.
- Perform various tasks to maintain IT systems, including installing and configuring software and hardware, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, providing technical support, and training.
- Manage IT vendor relationships and procurement of IT related services and equipment.
- Research to stay up to date with the latest technologies and trends in the industry. They must be able to research new technologies, software products, and services that can benefit their company.
- Managing and maintaining a company’s technological equipment, such as computers, tablets, and smartphones.
- Ensuring that company devises interconnect with file servers, email servers, and financial systems seamlessly.
- Installing, upgrading, and managing software and hardware on company devices.
- Managing all software licensing.
- Keep an inventory of all company electronic assets.
- Providing staff with training on how to use hardware, software, and cloud-based services.
- Creating instructions for program installation sequences.
- Performing backup and restoring lost data as needed.
- Evaluating and recommending software purchases to the IT manager.
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and communication skills to interact with end-users, higher-level support teams, and other professionals
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that arise in the IT systems
- Great attention to details to perform technical and administrative tasks
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues
- At least 2 years as an IT Coordinator for a multiple location company, or 4 years with an IT services company
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer technology, or a similar field
- At least 2 years of experience as an IT Coordinator or related role
- Expertise in IT tools and concepts, such as operation systems and internet protocol suites
- Solid knowledge of LAN/WAN configurations
- Expertise in configuring and managing Apple iOS and Android devices
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with technical and non-technical personnel
- Attention to detail with excellent communication and people skills
- Experience in network management and help desk support
- Understanding of TCP/IP protocols and LAN/WAN configuration
