• NRG is seeking an application developer and this candidate will be responsible for day-to-day production support issue monitoring and resolution. Additionally, this candidate will ensure the completion of system maintenance, upgrades, and testing as required.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Ability to work independently for monitoring, installation, configuration, design, development, testing, and deployment
• Work on multiple projects, systems, issues as a developer providing technical direction
• Interfaces between the application owners and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
• Complies with architecture and quality processes, principals, policies, and standards
• Interfaces between the application owners and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
• Escalates or resolves conflicts, as needed
• Identifies system technical requirements
• Understanding Collibra's current software design and promote pragmatic changes to continuously evolve into cloud native and architecture
• Interact closely with the Data Governance team to make sure you support and maintain our Collibra application

Working Conditions:

• Hybrid work schedule; a combination of working remotely from home and 1-2 days a week in the office

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related discipline/experience.
• 7+ years of experience in production support for mission-critical enterprise application
• 5+ years of data application design experience to drive end-to-end architecture and solution designs using Oracle, AWS EMR, Python/Spark, Power BI
• 5+ years of experience with Data Governance Tool, for example, Collibra

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Data Governance Tool, for example, Collibra
• Expert proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience with unstructured data
• Programming experience with Unix/Shell scripting
• Comfortable with ambiguity; ability to work with incomplete data or seemingly open-ended questions and translate into actionable items
• Energy / Utility industry experience
