IT Database Admin 3

Essential Job Duties

• Design and Document Technical Architect Database Solutions
• Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations
• Manage a Database Master Plan
• Provide database functional expertise mentoring, supporting and training other team members
• Develops, and enforces policies and procedures for maintaining the security and integrity of the database and ensures the database meets availability and disaster recovery requirements
• Design, implement and maintain ETL (Extraction, Transformation & Loading) and database interface protocols
• Designs and builds physical data structures
• Install, upgrade and manage databases, database monitoring, and database management tools
• Designs, codes, benchmarks, debugs and documents programs & systems
• Support and manage client/server based applications which are delivered over local and wide area networks
• Administers the technical design, testing, and implementation of all databases
• Develops, implements, modifies, and monitors database job schedules
• Provides on-call (off-hour and weekend) support for systems and associated software products
• Overnight and weekend hours may be required as needed
• Performs needed Database maintenance including re-indexing and restores as needed
• Provides assistance to SQL Server Reporting Services development team
• Participates in software release and upgrade deployments
• Partners with hosting vendor on database related migrations or database issues

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in computer science or related field
• Minimum of 5 years work experience in any major Vendor Database Engine
• Experience in managing multiple databases
• Manage distributed and centralized on-line databases
• Provide demonstrated knowledge of Data Modeling and Data Normalization techniques
• Technical knowledge of SQLServer, Oracle DB2, Foxpro or Cache Database Management System
• Must be an expert in Structured Query Language (SQL) and have the ability to write structured Computer programs in one or more programming languages
• Demonstrated experience in problem-solving techniques with database software supporting administrative information systems
• Ability to effectively communicate with users having a wide variety of backgrounds and skills from the novice user to the expert programmer
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Behaviors

• Must have basic mathematical skills
• Possess and apply advanced knowledge of Database Management principles and practices
• Must have experience in Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Office suite of products
• Must have experience in a multi-database server, multi-location organization
• Strong problem determination and resolution skills
• Must be able to maintaining confidentiality regarding patient and company proprietary information

Physical and Sensory Requirements

Mobility, reaching, bending, lifting (minimum of 25 pounds), fine hand coordination, ability to read and write, the ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and directions, ability to travel, and ability to remain calm under pressure.
