Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $89,000.00 - $105,000.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

As an IT Developer III, you will be responsible for development, testing, and implementation of new features as well as production defect tickets, mentorship needed to learn and grow team members, collaboration, partnership with business owners and highly responsive/effective team. This position will lead practices to eliminate work through automation, proactive identification of impacting issues, including iterative improvement to both quality and stability as a part of the daily work.

Essential Functions

  • Communicate and collaborate across multiple teams by providing on-call support of production, client test cycles and resolving cycle-related issues or problems
  • Address cycle-tuning and cycle-performance issues and opportunities
  • Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services-from inception, through deployment, operation and refinement
  • Support services through activities such as system design consulting, integrating software and frameworks, automation creation, testing, capacity planning and implementation reviews
  • Maintain stability by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health
  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
  • Utilize technical skills to maintain optimal system efficiency, productivity and reliability
  • Practice sustainable incident response
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Strong knowledge of COBOL, CICS and JCL in a Mainframe environment to develop, deploy and manage applications
  • Strong knowledge of data formats, including DB2, VSAM
  • Strong knowledge of mainframe development tools such as ISPW, SAS, INSYNC, DumpMaster and TraceMaster
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
  • Advance level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 4+ years related IT development experience required
  • CICS, COBOL, VSAM, and JCL experience required
  • SAS, ISPW, INSYNC, DumpMaster, TraceMaster,and/or DB2 experience preferred
  • Experience in Scrum/Kanban preferred

This compensation range is for the IT Developer III job and contemplates a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to location, skill sets, education, relevant experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable differentials (geographic, bilingual, or shift) that could be associated with the position or where it is filled. At Commerce, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $89,000 to $105,000 annually. This position will be eligible for additional compensation through performance-based incentive plan(s) that will correspond to meeting performance goals.
