Customer Experience - IDS Digital Engagement Lead

Position Description

Consumers possess an increasingly digital attitude, and the majority expect real-time answers. The need to engage in digital channels to connect and communicate with consumers is growing and becoming more sophisticated by the day. The digital engagement / consumer space is continuously evolving - new products in the marketplace, new platforms, changes to existing platforms, shifts in user loyalty, new data to report and new ways to interact with customers. Lilly recognizes the need to be present in Direct to consumer (DTC) marketing and also Disease state awareness through digital channels such as Social- Media (Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, WeChat, WhatsApp, Line etc., Websites, Search Engine Marketing (SEM), We strive to meet the needs of today's consumers when and where they want to engage.

This role will primarily focus on front end website capabilities with an opportunity to support and integrate with search, social, data, and personalization teams. This position reports to the Associate Director - M2- IDS, Global Digital Engagement

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Serving as the technical lead for the development of product websites and/or Corporate Affairs in partnership with developers and Marketing account managers
  • Evaluating potential use cases for new capabilities and managing key prioritization/trade off discussions for new website work
  • Lead the definition and gathering of requirements and propose changes to existing services and capabilities where applicable
  • Help define and lead future state website strategy and coach/develop junior developers on the team
  • Accountable to drive digital innovation, at scale, and serve as a change agent throughout the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Information Systems, Computer Science, or Digital-related field
  • 7+ years professional experience building responsive, user-friendly web applications
  • Proficient understanding of base front-end development technologies including HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript
  • Significant experience with JavaScript frameworks and client-side state management using React.js / Redux
  • Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
  • Experience in developing secure web applications and knowledge of application vulnerabilities such as Cross Site Scripting (XSS), Cross Site Request Forgery (CSRF) etc.
  • Developed component-based UI frameworks
  • Experience writing component library & creating style component
  • Experience with optimizing applications including JavaScript profiling, memory usage, and page speed optimization.
  • Experience leading a team of developers and managing deliverables with senior business stakeholders
  • Ability to understand business requirements and effectively translate business needs and process into technical terms, and vice versa.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with 2D visualization libraries like D3 is a plus
  • Experience in working in Scrum - Agile methodologies
  • 5+ years in a Digital Marketing, Program Management, or Information and Digital Solutions organization
  • Demonstrated understanding of the consumer marketing channels and business areas
  • Strong learning agility
  • Solid experience using best practices when working with REST APIs
  • Proactive mindset that can solve issues and involve stakeholders
  • Experience working directly with the US affiliate, Corporate Communications, and global teams, and engaging with business stakeholders directly for day-to-day operations
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, constantly evolving environment
  • Experience with Adobe products and/or personalization technology
  • Experience with Contentful
  • Experience with Accessibility design
  • Experience working with AdTech or digital marketing technologies a plus
  • Experience working with social, search and web analytics technologies
  • Experience in development and deployment on cloud infrastructure
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with high attention to detail
  • Have strong self-management skills and ability to work in ambiguity
  • Experience working with stakeholders in different countries
  • Pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience
