IT Director, Technology
Job Description
The ideal candidate will have broad technical knowledge and interest, with demonstrated, deep technical leadership in multiple large-scale information technology projects/areas. The candidate will have strong leadership and relationship management skills with highly developed collaboration, negotiation & influencing abilities. In addition to experience managing complex business relationships and technology vendors, the right candidate has proven experience establishing high level technical strategy and has successfully executed upon established strategy.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate SRC's corporate information technology vision, strategy, and roadmap.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of SRC's IT infrastructure, networks, and data centers.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Evaluate and select technology vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.
- Lead strong, diverse, multi-site technical teams managing enterprise servers, networks, end user computing, service desk.
- Strategic and resource planning in both classified and unclassified environments.
- Understand business drivers, strategy & objectives, and identify/recommend/implement IT solutions.
- Establish, build, and sustain an enterprise architecture discipline, and define & maintain a reference architecture and IT technology strategy for SRC.
- Plan, monitor, control, and communicate - budgets, staffing, and schedules.
- Identify risks and develop/execute mitigation strategies.
- Provide guidance in complex technical troubleshooting.
- Evaluate new and emerging technologies and trends for appropriate adoption at SRC.
- Manage relationships with partners (customers, vendors, service providers), and provide direction on technical issues, upgrades, licensing and maintenance renewals.
- Document, train and continuously improve Technical Engineering business processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field
- 15+ years of relevant experience working in an IT infrastructure environment, and at least 10 years of experience leading major/complex IT programs with significant organizational change impact.
- 5 or more years of management experience
- Must have working knowledge of common industry operating systems and protocols for servers, workstations, and networks.
- Broad-based technical ability, and deep technical knowledge in multiple disciplines.
- Demonstrated expertise in server, workstation, application, network and storage management.
- Familiarity with many technologies, and extensive experience with some of the following:
- O/S - Windows and/or Linux
- Development - .Net, C#, Java, HTML/CSS, Python, C & C++
- Databases - SQL, Oracle
- High Performance Computing
- Data Storage and Backup
- Cloud computing (Iaas, SaaS)
- Virtualization
- Firmware and/or Programmable Logic
- Testing tools
- DevSecOps CI/CD
- Cybersecurity
- Application development/maintenance/implementation
- Data Management & Analytics
- Working knowledge of ITIL Processes, and Information Technology disciplines.
- Outstanding leadership, planning and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business strategy to technical strategy.
- Experience collaborating with senior business leaders and facilitating consensus among multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and manage the expectations of stakeholders, team members, management, and external partners.
- Expert at managing multiple, simultaneous projects and programs.
- Excellent communication skills including communications and presentations at the executive level.
- Experience with vendor negotiations and management.
- Experience working with external systems integrators and project resources across different business units and technical disciplines.
- Experience with Department of Defense cyber compliance a plus.
- Travel up to 10% as required for successful delivery of projects.
