JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for an individual who is great at conveying technical ideas in simple terms, working with others, and who is passionate about providing our users with meaningful technical support and solutions. Previous experience in an IT help desk position desired. The Desktop Engineer supports day-to-day IT business needs such as troubleshooting laptops, desktops, printers, tablets, conference rooms, and Microsoft Office 365. Weekly, the Desktop Engineer will prioritize, up level, and address systemic issues proactively, recording, and documenting issues in ServiceNow. Conduct trainings, write documentation, and send out IT-related communications to the local staff. The Desktop Engineer may be assigned IT project tasks such as installing hardware onsite, working as part of a support team for a product launch, or as a tester for a new IT service. The Desktop Engineer is expected to meet with IT vendors, escort them through the facility, and assist when needed with onsite projects. Some night and weekend work required.
CORE JOB DUTIESÂ
- Administrating Office 365 suite (Office Apps, SharePoint/OneDrive, Teams, User Administration)
- Support PC/Mac/iOS devices in a cloud managed environment (Microsoft Endpoint Manager/Jamf)
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical coworkers
- Performs set-up, installation, and configuration of desktop hardware and software in compliance with internal controls, policies, and standards.
- Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation
- Maintain video conferencing solutions that support both individual offices and conference rooms
- Headquarters located in Chicago and this role requires an on-site presence.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLSÂ Â
- 2+ Years of Technology Support Experience
- Microsoft 365 Enterprise Experience
- Microsoft Intune MDM Experience
- Apple Mac & iOS Troubleshooting Experience
- Jamf MDM Experience
- Conference Room AV Support Experience
- ServiceNow Familiarity Preferred
- Strong people skills and a knack for technical problem solving
- Excellent prioritization skills and an ability to make decisions quickly
- Strong desire to develop and grow in knowledge and experience
