Job Description
What Will I Do?
- Coordinate with IT leaders to develop budgets aligned with IT and Enterprise strategies.
- Manage IT operating, corporate accounts, and capability investing budgets, including reviewing figures, documents, and journal entry postings for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper account coding for the general ledger.
- Ensuring proper expense accruals pursuant to contract terms and accounting guidance.
- Develop transfer / reconciliation journal entries for all cost centers receiving capability investment and customer-funded project funds.
- Ensure business users are billed for all services provided.
- Develop and manage allocations in conjunction with the leader of that service, chargebacks and show backs for services provided.
- Liaison with other functions regarding cost analysis and chargebacks including enterprise shared services.
- Develop and track operating and corporate accounts forecasts.
- Regular performance reporting, including gathering of all relevant information, validation with leadership, and finalizing information for the IT scorecard and capability portfolio communications that are presented to Executive Leadership, Segment Leaders, and Shared Services stakeholders.
- Support collaboration with IT leadership in the development of IT Services Catalogue, including development of activity-driven costing of services and impact of demand and cost levers on expense.
- Support IT Leaders on the utilization of the financial information and operational data to understand cost drivers and share back with business consumers to manage demand for those services yielding overall IT cost management.
- Collaborate with Corporate Finance and Subsidiary Finance on all IT financial matters.
- Proactively identify, implement, and manage process improvements and agile solutions within functional areas and IT services/products.
- Participate and/or lead cross functional discussions/initiatives to anticipate and mitigate issues and achieve required outcomes within required timeframes.
- Actively participate in ad hoc workgroups supporting IT strategy.
- Provide support/analysis of position management
- Influence and interact across assigned disciplines, capabilities, services, technologies, domains, or systems.
- Ensure adherence to practices, procedures, precedents, policies, and leadership direction.
- Mentor and coach less experienced coworkers on the technical and interpersonal skills needed for effective job performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of financial analysis, budget, and/or cost accounting experience.
- Accounting, reporting, financial analysis, forecasting, asset management, inventory management principles and budgeting experience.
- Knowledge of corporate accounting policies and procedures.
- Experience leading budget development.
- Experience with chargeback/show back procedures and standards.
- Experience with performance reporting including scorecards and capability portfolio reporting for executives and project management principles.
- Knowledge of portfolio, program, and project management and related financial/project management and accounting.
- Strong emphasis with asset and lease accounting.
- Strong background in Cost Accounting principles (price x quantity).
- A solid working knowledge of Business and Operational Planning, Budget Process, Cost Allocation methodologies and cost-modeling disciplines.
- Knowledge of Accounting Principles as well as scenario modeling and forecasting techniques (e.g., conducting "what-if" analyses, etc.).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the demonstrated experience in translates financial results into clear, concise information that can be used to support strong decision making.
- Strong understanding of IT services, technologies, resources, and nomenclature.
- Ability to build trust and strategic partnerships with assigned business area contacts, project teams, and leadership to facilitate effective two-way communication.
What is Preferred?
- Experience using Hyperion reporting tools, including SmartView, and Project Server
- Experience with asset and project accounting
- IT Asset Management, Services Management and ITIL v4 knowledge
- IT Project Management experience with project budgeting and forecasting
- Knowledge of IT capability investment concepts
General Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.
