Job Description

Avint LLC is seeking a skilled and motivated IT Help Desk Specialist to join our team in the Herndon, VA area. We are looking for someone who is a motivated self-starter with the ability to provide fast and effective support across our entire team. In this role, you will be required to respond to queries, assess and diagnose computer hardware and software issues, complete root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.

As a part of providing support, you may be required to modify hardware, complete global system and/or software upgrade pushes, as well as perform basic computer maintenance. You will provide technical expertise towards Incident Management & Response, as well as continual management and improvement of Avint's ticketing system. You will also develop, update and/or maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), including recommendations to improve design capabilities as needed. Finally, you will have an in-depth approach to research and reengineering solutions to complex and often uncommon issues.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to corporate staff and associates
  • Manage the Support ticketing system, responding/completing requests
  • Administer Microsoft 365 (Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint)
  • Create security operations center (SOC) reports
  • Assist in writing of policies, procedures, and knowledge base documentation
  • Perform scans and analysis
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
  • Record events and problems and their resolution in logs
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical hardware and/or software issues

Requirements

Technical Qualifications:

  • Microsoft 365 (Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint)
  • Microsoft Defender
  • Computer Networking technologies
  • Asset Management
  • Security Analysis
  • Knowledge of wide area network (WAN) and local area network (LAN) connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Eligible to obtain security clearance
  • Strong understanding of Cybersecurity concepts
  • Detail oriented in order to keep detailed notes on tickets
  • Demonstrates strong communication, oral, and written skills
  • Highly organized to keep Help desk tickets order
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic computer technical issues
  • Linux experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of computer software systems, including databases, office applications, and operating systems
  • Excellent analytical and diagnostic skills
  • Advanced knowledge of help desk software and remote-access systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues
  • Performs tasks with increasing levels of difficulty with less oversight and direction from others
  • Demonstrates initiative to build expertise within the help desk and IT area
