About the Team

Boom has a small, highly capable, and growing IT team! Boom’s mission is clear and the IT team is focused on delivering right sized and scalable solutions to enable mission success. The team is high energy and very collaborative with an all for one and one for all ethos. We work with emerging as well as top technologies focusing on efficacy and throughput. We prefer to integrate and implement SaaS and off the shelf solutions over building custom applications ourselves, unless it gives us a competitive advantage to do so. 

The IT Team has  5 key focus areas:
  • IT Support Services: the front line of employee support to our 150+ Boom employees, including A/V support.
  • Tools & Technology: oversight of the technology stack ensuring that we have the right tools for our work
  • Program Management: delivering key programs, such as new office build and managing employee resource sites, such as the company intranet.
  • Compliance & Policies: protecting the interests of Boom and its employees ensuring we meet all compliance and policy obligations.
  • Data & Analytics: allowing Boom to make data-driven decisions to our IT programs and practices based on reliable, integrated data.

  • You have 0-1+ years experience in IT working closely with employees on the front-line and backend systems.
  • You have hands-on experience supporting or a desire to learn a variety of IT and endpoint systems running, MacOS, Linux, and Windows.
  • You are passionate about technology in all its forms and constantly seek to learn new tools and systems.
  • You have strong customer service skills.
  • You have strong organization and time management skills - you're able to juggle multiple tasks at once and not allow customer service to suffer.
  • You have a learner's mindset - you are an active listener, you are proactive and you have a strong desire to learn.
  • You welcome change and actively seek ways to improve your work and be more effective / efficient.

About the Role

An IT Helpdesk Level I at Boom means being a technical individual contributor, and optimistically approaching IT problems, meeting people where they are and helping the person and the technology. A typical day will include walk up questions and support, along with working incoming tickets as well as working on multiple projects to drive efficiency as we grow.


  • Work with various groups to identify and resolve technical concerns.
  • Create and maintain conference room AV setups.
  • Execute on and off boarding automation.
  • Execute user access control implementation and processes.. 
  • Demonstrate accountability and ownership to ensure administration and configuration of our tools, in partnership with stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation:

The Base Salary Range for this position is $38,000-$45,000 and represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Boom's total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives/equity, an open PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.

To conform to U.S. Government aerospace technology export regulations (ITAR and EAR), applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
