The IT Infrastructure Architect role at Life Fitness will serve as the senior-most engineer on the Data Services team providing enterprise guidance and support across all our current and future IT infrastructure deployments, methodologies, and configurations. The dual responsibility of this role brings a logical synergy to not only the architectural design of IT systems, but also the implementation of those systems, ensuring full planning and project lifecycle activities are carried out effectively. Automation, being a critical part of today's integrated systems, is articulated into this role so that interoperability and future integration capabilities are also designed into Enterprise Architecture from the ground up. This position will also heavily drive the direction that the team goes in the future regarding DevOps and IoC.
Job Responsibilities:

• Primary responsibility for architectural standards and design, including;
• Soliciting subject matter expertise from other Applications, Security, and Infrastructure team members prior to creating architectural plans or standards.
• Creation of pre-build architectural plans for all new application infrastructure (as needed) and other IT systems.
• Creation and upkeep of "living" technology standards documents.
• Partner with outside teams to design, educate, and implement automation solutions for server, network, storage, middleware, database and security where needed.
• Provides Infrastructure team representation on the Enterprise IT Architecture Team.
• Ensuring monitoring is in place and appropriate for end-points and named applications.
• Oversight of certificate and PKI environments.
• Primary responsibility for overall cloud platform administration, higher-level administration including;
• Investigating where expenses might be generated from if higher than benchmarked.
• License consumption tracking and proper usage oversight.
• Acting as point of escalation for fellow infrastructure teammates or other members of the IT organization.
• Assist with general administration of systems in Azure, OCI, and on-prem and their underlining infrastructure as needed.
• Respond to security related incidents as requested by the security team.
• Act as an IT infrastructure liaison for our managed service provider who provides DBA support for Life Fitness.
• Support and troubleshooting responsibility for IT Infrastructure systems where automation and/or workflow is in use as well as identify new opportunities where automation can be utilized to improve efficiency and/or cost savings.
• Design, implement and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environments for automated provisioning.
• Maintain appropriate controls and documentation to ensure compliance of audit requirements and qualifications.
• Engage vendor support as required.
• Perform capacity and performance management analysis.
• Support Disaster Recovery (DR) Tests.
• Participates in on-call incident manager rotation to respond to major incidents.
• Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
Architectural and Process Design

• Designs business process solutions aligned with the business strategy and incorporating best practices.
• Researches and uses best practices by interacting with vendors, research firms, and associations.
• Establishes and uses contacts throughout the industry to stay abreast of new services and technologies.
• Proactive and frequent architectural documentation created, not waiting for others to prompt.
• Creates and maintains material which describes more intricate and complex architecture, as well as business process workflows and data flows, including detail and specifications of automation and timing of automated events.
• Maintains intimate knowledge of up-to-date industry standards, emerging/new technologies, technology roadmaps, and possibilities for synergies between existing products already used by Life Fitness.
• Participates heavily in the planning and coordination of infrastructure projects to ensure that the proper technologies and methodologies are being enacted with consideration to the rest of the enterprise and any relevant roadmaps.

Education:

• B.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent experience

Job Knowledge/Experience:

• Heavy experience in more than one cloud environment with preferences for Azure and OCI but AWS being desireable as well.
• Proficiency with Ansible, DSC, SCCM, Terraform, Puppet, or similar products.
• Proficiency with SolarWinds or similar products.
• Proficiency with Active Directory, AAD, and PKI.
• Proficiency with DevOps and CI/CD methodologies and tools for automated infrastructure code test, integration, deployment, and assurance.
• Experience with ServiceNow integrations, automation, and workflows including custom JavaScript code and 3rd party APIs
• Experience with SQL administration and licensing.
• Proficiency with Linux and Windows systems with an emphasis on methods for automating operations Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in MS Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure environments.
• Highly proficient in multiple/applicable scripting languages.
• Deep competency in virtualization, cloud infrastructure technologies, and networking.
• Proficiency with Python, JavaScript, and PowerShell.
• Proficiency with multiple data center infrastructure technologies such as server virtualization, storage, network, security, middleware, and database.
• Experience with Software Development Methodologies
• Experience with security best practices
• Experience with API integrations.
• Experience with IT Operations.
• Knowledge of ServiceNow platform - administration, orchestration, and automation.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to travel up to 5%, for Life Fitness site-support, or for education.
• Ability to support production systems for emergency support, and for systems maintenance required to be performed outside of business hours.
• Other duties as assigned.
