The role: IT Infrastructure Cloud Engineer (Open to Location)
The Cloud Engineer role is a key position to the Infrastructure Engineering team. The ideal candidate will work with other engineers to execute and support the current and future cloud environment, including AWS, Azure, GCP and Snowflake. In addition, they will be responsible for maintaining standards, and for adhering and defining design principles of Infrastructure Engineering. They will participate in technical initiatives for worldwide cloud solutions, both internally and with our consultant-based employees, supporting the future state of the Slalom cloud Infrastructure.
Who you are:
This position requires the candidate to be team-oriented and familiar with scrum-style, Agile, or DevOps work processes. Candidate should have a strong understanding of cloud platforms, principles, and infrastructure. An ideal cloud engineer should possess good analytical, communication, time management, and creative skills.
What you'll do:
- This position will have the following responsibilities:
- Maintain and install virtual systems including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and other cloud service disciplines.
- Manage a variety of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP, and Snowflake.
- Monitor and manage cloud monitoring tools to provide the team and customers with visibility into usage and resource costs.
- Maintain the security, access control, organization, and efficient operations of the cloud environment and resources.
- Collaborate with Information Security and other teams to ensure infrastructure systems security practices meet business requirements.
- Participate in issues and outage resolution, escalations, and regular team meetings.
- A potential candidate should have a history of success in cloud platform use and engineering ability.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Certifications in the area of expertise are considered.
- Experience or familiarity with the following tools or platforms is a plus: Amazon Web Services, Snowflake, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams.
- This position requires participation in an on-call rotation.
