We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for an IT Lead Technical Analyst on our Information Technology team. This position can be hybrid (working from both office and home), with a schedule to be determined by business needs.

As an IT Lead Technical Analyst you will partner with business and technical stakeholders to understand theirtechnology needs, investigate options and prepare technical requirements andsystem design for a systems solution. Analyze and document descriptions of technology needs, includingtechnical architecture; system integration; workflows; data flows; and othertechnical requirements. Designapplication technical specifications, including the functions and stepsrequired to develop or modify the technology solutions to meet technicalrequirements. Lead the estimation process of implementing the technologysolutions. Work independently or as a lead on the project team to ensurequality technical requirements. Responsible for providing technical direction and oversight concerningthe technological implications of the solution.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Software Developments
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert this role will lead large and medium technical requirements and system design analysis to assist in the identification, collection, and consolidation of required information and data including technical challenges and opportunities.
  • Develop technical specifications for solutions that fulfill technical requirements and support enterprise technology standards. Lead technical requirement and system design review sessions.
  • Recognize and identify potential areas where existing applications and/or software require re-engineering, or where new ones need to be developed, purchased, and/or migrated.
  • Provide clarification of technical requirements and system design to software engineers as needed.
  • Ensure that all products, technical requirements, and system design deliverables adhere to consistency, reusability, and maintainability enterprise standards.

Operations andTechnical Solutions
  • Provide leadership and oversight to other software engineers and system administrators at a program level. -
  • Actively research, identify, make recommendations, and lead technology renewal activities to ensure long-term maintainability of systems and reduce risk of technology obsolescence.
  • Lead other software engineers in issue resolution efforts.
  • Assist technology stakeholders with root-cause analysis to determine underlying problems and make recommendations for short- and long-term solutions.
  • Assist in proper validation to ensure that issues have been resolved and processes have been implemented as needed to ensure issues do not reoccur in the future.

Project Management
  • Report project status regularly and proactively communicate concerns, issues, and risks to management along with recommendations for solutions.
  • Recognize and identify potential areas where existing applications and/or software require re-engineering, or where new ones need to be developed, purchased, and/or migrated.
  • Share intellectual knowledge and cross-train other development team members.
  • Manage and maintain technical requirements and system design documentation as needed.
  • Enhance professional and technical knowledge through participation in informal and formal training sessions. Mentor other software engineers and provide leadership and direction on projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. BS or BA degree in information technology-related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
  2. Minimum of 10 years' experience with analysis and problem definition in state-of-the-art information technology as it pertains to application development and systems design and integration. Experience in evaluating new technology and how it can improve applications and/or software.
  3. Must have experience documenting complex technical requirements and systems design and be able to provide recommendations and research of industry trends, technology products, performance analysis, feasibility, measurable key performance indicators, and cost impact.
  4. Minimum of 10 years experience in technical requirements and system design analysis, including technical architecture; system integration; workflows; data flows; and other technical requirements in a web environment with object modeling tools.
  5. Must be able to identify and recommend technology based on business and functional requirements and must be able to effectively explain the difference between the two concepts while gathering technical requirements.
  6. Ability to create and maintain technical design specifications and architecture to identify potential challenges while supporting the identified business requirements. In addition, it must be able to proactively identify potential risks associated with the proposed technology solution in relation to the identified technical requirements.
  7. Able to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing. Prepares written business documents that are coherent, grammatically correct, and professional.
  8. Ability to work effectively within a team while being considerate with other team members required. Experience with successfully mentoring multiple Software Engineers preferred.
  9. Proactively initiates, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external team members to achieve results. Must be able to quickly secure the trust of technical stakeholders in relation to an understanding of their business.
  10. Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
  11. Assumes additional responsibility without being asked.
  12. Ability to work long hours, when necessary, to travel, attend educational events, and to meet with vendors and high-level business leaders.
