IT Linux System Engineer - (REMOTE / WFH)
Job Description
SailPoint, the industry leader in Identity Security, is seeking an experienced IT Linux Systems Administrator with Automation skillset responsible for providing support to critical internal infrastructure and applications. This is a professional level position and requires strong execution and analytical abilities. This position is expected to interact with Servers, Databases, SaaS products, Security, and various groups within Information Technology. Candidate must have strong server, network, communication, and analytical skills. This position may need to travel internationally on occasion to our other offices. Responsibilities and Tasks:
You will be working closely with the other business units to ensure solutions are met or even exceeding business requirements. You will be expected to recommend, promote and leverage IT standards to minimize complexity, adhere with compliance and maximize security.
Specifics responsibilities include (but not limited to)
- Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Linux Servers.
- Monitor overall health of the global server infrastructure environment and keep it up to date with latest OS patches, firmware, and drivers
- Use script language and tools to automate operational activities, tasks, system builds and changes in the environment (Python, Ansible, Etc.)
- Continuously improvement of the operations through monitoring, system performance metrics,
proactive actions and automation - Creating all the necessary documentation for any changes in the environment or new technologies being introduced in the environment.
- Work with our solution architects to implement new technologies or system/infrastructure changes to improve performance, high availability, scalability, reliability and resiliency.
- Ensure architectural consistency and provides technical direction through roadmap process, knowledge management, disaster recovery plan development and testing.
- Able to build sophisticated systems using computing, networking and storage technologies, whether on-prem, public cloud or hybrid.
- Incident and problem management
- Operational support escalation and project execution
- Maintain OLA and SLA agreements with other Business Units
- Support ISO, SOC and FedRAMP compliance
Qualifications and Experience
- Due FedRAMP requirements, US Citizenship is required to be considered for this role
- 5-8 years of experienced IT Linux Administrator in an enterprise environment
- Installation, configuration, and administration of the major Linux/VMware components and deep technical knowledge in the below key technologies:
- Linux Servers (RedHat, Ubuntu, CentOS, Suse)
- Expert in Shell, Ansible, Perl, and/or Python scripting
- Solid understanding of DNS, LDAP, DHCP and SNMP protocols
- Proficient with AWX or Ansible Tower
- Additional knowledge on Kubernetes and containerization
- Datacenter Enterprise hardware equipment knowledge (compute, network, storage)
- VMware Technologies such as ESXi, VCenter, vRA/vRO, SRM, NSX, VMC and more (private and public cloud)
- Fundamental knowledge of networking, firewalls, load balancers, and databases.
- Passion and accountability for which you will be responsible
- Strong analytic, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong decision-making, prioritization and negotiation skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation and negotiation)
- Strong ability to self-learn new technologies
- Individual should be self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Must be able to work under pressure and project deadlines
Education
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, other technical disciplines or equivalent work experience.
