JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary/Objective

Manage Information Technology (IT) services, projects and teams across Adient Manufacturing Plants. Goal is to maximize availability, performance and efficiency of Plant Operations. Focus on cost effective solutions with a continuous improvement mindset.

Reporting Relationships

  • Direct report to the Regional IT Director
  • Dotted-line reporting relationship to the Regional Manufacturing Operations Leaders
  • Dotted-line reports of Local Plant IT team to the BU IT Manager

Roles & Responsibilities

IT Management

  • Indirect management of Plant IT teams, usually 1-5 people at 5-6 plants.
  • Manage Plant IT Staffing Model, Goals, Metrics, Standards and succession planning.
  • Consult with Plant Management, Operations Leadership and OEM's on new business needs at the plants.
  • Manage intake of new demand at the plants for IT and/or service improvements to existing solutions.
  • Drive problem management resolution and permanent corrective actions with responsible service teams.
  • Perform escalations as needed with internal and external IT service providers.
  • Ensures company IT activities are communicated in a timely fashion to the Plant and Operations Leaders.
  • Accountable for IT tasks related to plant program launches.

IT Infrastructure & Applications

  • Provide oversight for the daily operations of computer systems including but not limited to the following:
  • Plant IT performing Level 1, incident management, support for hardware, communications, networking, software and shop-floor systems ran at the manufacturing facility. Escalate to next level support teams if applicable.
  • Monitoring event management and administration of local IT Infrastructure.
  • Accountable for plants adhering to the IT processes and standards of the company.
  • Drive Key and Operational Metric goal attainment.
  • Ensure critical to production Plant IT services have documented contingency plans that are tested on recurring basis.

Experience & Skills

Minimum Required:

  • 8 years IT related experience.
  • 3 years leading IT operations services and team.
  • Strong communication, analytical, project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to delegate and track multiple work streams.
  • Desire to have broad responsibilities and work in fast paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.

Additional Desired:

  • At least 6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally automotive industry.
  • Manufacturing Execution System (MES) experience.

Education & Training

Required:

  • Bachelors' Degree or Associates/Technical Degree in IT related field of study with 5+ years of experience.

Desired:

  • Technical Certifications.
  • Continuous Improvement training.

Other Requirements

  • 25% per month traveling within assigned region, on average.
  • Home office with high speed internet availability.
