IT Manager

The IT Manager is responsible for global IT operational activities including management of the company’s computers, networks, and communications technology with the intent of ensuring business continuity, security of systems, and constantly improving the company’s technology and infrastructure.  The IT Manager collaborates within IT and cross-functionally to enable achievement of the company’s goals and objectives.  This individual plans, organizes, manages, and controls a global IT environment which operates 24x7.

• Manage test and production environments, networks, end-user computing equipment and everything between and surrounding them
• Propose, implement, and manage strategies for maintaining and upgrading the company’s infrastructure to support current and future needs of the business
• Deliver multiple projects with competing priorities; manage challenges, roadblocks, dependencies, overlaps and scope in a leadership and hands-on role
• Lead the roll-out of new and enhanced technology
• Lead, coach, and empower personnel within the IT team to achieve goals and objectives
• Partner cross-functionally to assess the needs of the company’s computing systems
• Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, practices, and relevant documentation
• Construct and implement risk mitigation strategies and troubleshooting plans to ensure the company’s systems continue to operate smoothly
• Ensure all work is carried out in a professional and safe manner

• In-depth understanding of programming, networking, computer hardware and all facets of IT operations
• Strong ability to quickly gain the knowledge and skills necessary to manage and support custom built ERP
• Excellent knowledge and application of IT best practices, policies, and practices
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
• A clear understanding of client/server technology and network architecture
• Ability to analyze risk and develop mitigation strategies for the business
• Experience in negotiation of equipment and service agreements with IT contractors and suppliers

Education - 4-year degree in Business, Engineering or Information Technology related field. 4-year degree in Information Technology related field (preferred).

Experience - 5+ years of IT management experience with on-premise and cloud based solutions.  5+ years of IT management experience including IT operations and development  (preferred).  

Knowledge (required)

• A broad spectrum of IT knowledge including computer hardware and software, networking, and communications protocols
• Strong knowledge of current and emerging IT solutions and underlying technologies
• Solid understanding of SDLC

Knowledge (preferred)

• Good understanding of database concepts
• Experience using Oracle or another major database
• Ability to read/write SQL
• Experience with ERP systems

This position is based in Austin, TX, USA (required.)  Work is performed in a typical office environment. Occasional international travel (<10%) to our other offices may be required.
