IT Manager
Job Description
York Space Systems is seeking an IT Manager to provide functional leadership and execute talent management to maintain a well-trained, high performing, and motivated team, build and maintain cross functional relationships to proactively meet customer needs / address issues. You'll assist in the definition of project scope and objectives to support growing business needs. You’ll communicate with stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility, provide resource estimates for the projects and visibility to team resource availability, and coordinate between IT functional areas, customers, and stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of deliverables and risks. Coordination with other program staff located at other geographic areas is critical to successful performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and develop a team of IT professionals at varying levels in their careers to successfully exceed the expectations of the clients and to grow their careers with York Space Systems.
- Prepare and execute the staffing plan to align with the user support requirements and ensure that the 'day to day' support to the end user is delivered efficiently and effectively.
- Effectively interacts with other members of the IT and Security team to optimize IT strategies in support of program goals and objectives.
- Implementation of NIST 800-171, “Protecting Controlled Unclassified Information in Nonfederal Systems and Organizations” requirements.
- Provides leadership over the process, application, and technology supporting business growth. To include strategy development, product and service acquisition and delivery, and communication activities.
- Coordinates with program managers to ensure that requirements are managed, changes are documented, and systems are developed, integrated, tested, and deployed, to improve compliance and business goals.
- Resolves competing demands related to project scope, schedule, cost, customer satisfaction, and quality and ensures compliance with organizational processes and procedures
- Apprises York management of status, customer satisfaction, and risks that might affect program performance, and managing the human resources to ensure team success.
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree and 6 years of experience.
- Must have a current DOD 8570 IAT level II baseline certification (example: Security+ CE)
- Demonstrated experience managing, supervising, or leading cross functional teams and/or individuals.
- Customer-focused with proven leadership and excellent communication skills
- Proven experience in providing strategic direction, regarding IT products, processes, applications, and technology.
- Experience with System Administration and/or network administration
- The ideal candidate will have experience supporting Engineering organizations and/or companies that routinely contract with the government.
- The qualified candidate must be customer-focused with proven leadership skills and excellent communication skills.
- Candidate must be a self-starter and possess the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to provide strategic direction regarding IT products, processes, applications, and technology
- Work experience with UNIX/LINUX systems
- Work experience with Windows systems
- General understanding of network topology and operations
- Work experience with RMF compliance requirement
