Skimmer is on a mission: to modernize the pool and spa service and repair industry. What You’ll Do
Plan and manage IT infrastructure, systems, projects, and support to meet organizational needs. We expect this role to be an “army of one” for the foreseeable future.
Maintain and Manage Essential IT Infrastructure
- Maintain essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware
- Efficiently manage employee hardware procurement; ensure devices are appropriate per role, in employee hands in a timely fashion, and configured appropriately
- Develop, own, and manage master device management system
- Manage on-site technology needs at our Austin HQ
- Respond appropriately to (unanticipated) high urgency situations
Corporate Access Management
- Manage and provision appropriate employee access to corporate operating systems, applications, etc. at the point of their onboarding and offboarding
- Monitor corporate system health using existing management tools, and respond to hardware issues as they arise
- Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backups
Corporate Security
- Ensure best practices for an organization of our maturity with regards to organization management, identity management, access management, logging & monitoring, data protection, network configuration
- Ensure best practices and use of appropriate tooling for corporate security, including account management, endpoint management, password managers, etc.
- In collaboration with operations and technical leadership, develop incident response process and appropriate feedback loops to improve security
What Performance Looks Like
- Within [2] months, employee onboarding as it relates to hardware procurement and access management is timely, pain-free, and dare we say, a breeze!
- Within [4] months, our security practice conforms to the recommendations of our security consultants.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in information technology or computer science
- Proven success in an IT role
- Experience with or knowledge of programming languages and operating systems, current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, systems performance-monitoring tools, active directories, virtualization, HTTP traffic, content delivery, and caching
- Experience in project management, application design and integration, and cloud computing (specifically Microsoft Azure)
