You, as our IT Manager will be responsible for managing the HelpDesk which involves taking care of end users and their systems, onboarding/offboarding, promptly resolving issues and organizing Helpdesk operations. You will also closely work with HR, IT and IT Security teams to ensure that consistent and high quality service is provided to employees. Additional duties are managing the authentication services, server management and network management as needed. ***NOTE, this role is primarily remote, however, there is a requirement to be able to spend at least 1 business day each week in the Cambridge, MA office.
What You Will Do
- Standardization of Helpdesk services and procedures
- Writing and maintaining detailed documentation
- Perform end user desktop support functions
- Perform on and off boarding
- Managing tickets and incidents, perform system monitoring
- Maintain excellent time to respond and time to close metrics
- Follow and contribute to IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes
- Maintaining asset inventory, tracking spending and planning budget
- Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT
Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of IT best practices, policies and regulations
- A clear understanding of client/server technology and network architecture
- Good communication, including writing, speaking and active listening
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Advanced leadership and conflict management skills
- Customer service and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years of experience working in IT operations
- Experience leading and managing IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies(Windows, Linux, MacOS)
- Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize
- Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices
