Job Description
Position Summary
As the first IT hire for Vector Atomic, you will have the critical role of establishing our IT function and how it operates. You will work closely with the engineering and administrative staff to ensure that Vector Atomic is using the most effective IT solutions to run our business. You will have deep knowledge of programming languages and operating systems (ex: Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory), current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and systems performance monitoring. You will be responsible for ensuring that the hardware and software used by our company is easy to use, secure, and scalable.
What You'll Do
- Manage day to day operations of our Helpdesk and Lab support teams
- Oversee employee onboarding and separation for Vector Atomic IT; ensure all IT deliverables are ready for new hires on day one, and confirm separated employee accounts are closed in a timely manner and all equipment is returned
- Lead large IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services
- Monitor performance of information technology systems to monitor cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure
- Help define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes
- Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs
- You will also be responsible for providing support for our team members and contractors. You will be responsible for the relationship with our Managed Service Provider and, as this function grows, hiring and managing IT staff.
- Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- You have 5+ years of IT leadership experience (managing MSP, owning the long term goals of an area or program)
- US citizenship or Permanent Residency (Green Card) required by US export control laws.
- Experience leading and managing IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies
- Knowledge of CMMC compliance requirements and implementation and methods for secure handling of CUI
- You have IT experience in a startup environment
- You have experience with IT helpdesk administration
- You're comfortable with MDM implementation and administration
- You're able to perform system diagnosis to drive solutions
- You have excellent knowledge of computer systems, security and networking
- Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and collaborators, both written and verbal

Pay Range
We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, performance bonus, benefits, and equity. The pay range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000 including annual bonus. It's atypical to be hired at the top end of this range for the role, as actual pay is based on several factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience level.
