Job DescriptionAs an IT Manage, Data Engineering overseeing the Data Platform, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the data architecture utilizing Google Cloud Storage and the data warehouse. This role requires a deep understanding of GCS, data warehousing technologies, and the ability to lead a team in ensuring data integrity, security, and efficient accessibility.
As an IT Manager, Data Engineering, your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and execute strategies for the utilization, storage, and accessibility of data on Google Cloud Storage
- Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of the data warehouse, ensuring its optimal performance and scalability
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code automation technologies to build and deploy both infrastructure and applications (i.e., Terraform, Ansible)
- Proficient in handling CI/CD integrations with GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins and deploying infrastructure and applications on GCP
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and develop solutions to meet business needs
- Lead and manage a team of data engineers and analysts, providing guidance and support
- Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards
- Optimize data storage and accessibility for high performance and cost efficiency
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in GCS, data warehousing, and cloud services
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in managing data platforms, preferably in a cloud-based environment with a focus on GCS and data warehousing, designing, building, and supporting real-time and batch data pipeline and analytical solutions
- 5+ years of experience in Data Warehousing and Information Management, with at least 2 years of people management experience
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and relevant certifications (e.g., Google Professional Data Engineer) would be a significant advantage
- Proficiency in Google Cloud Storage (GCS) and associated data management tools
- Expertise in data warehouse technologies (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.)
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to make data-driven decisions
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional team interactions
- Familiarity with scripting and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, etc.) for data manipulation and analysis
BONUS POINTS FOR:
- Telecom experience desired
- Google Cloud Platform certifications.
- Experience in implementing data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with machine learning and data analytics.
