Wachter, Inc. is seeking an experienced IT Manager of Security Operations to lead our Security Operations Center (SOC). This hands-on role is crucial for maintaining the security posture of our company and our clients by overseeing the implementation of security measures, managing the response to security threats, and continuously improving our security operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information security, incident response, and team leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Professional security management certification, such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent, is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a security operations role, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory position.
  • In-depth knowledge of security protocols, incident response, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Experience with security technologies (SIEM, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, etc.) and cloud security best practices.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing security policies and procedures that reduce risk and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Experience with SOC2 compliance reporting engagements preferred.

Key Responsibilites:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the SOC, ensuring efficient and effective response to security incidents and alerts.
  • Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures in line with industry best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Manage and mentor a team of security professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to conduct regular security assessments and audits.
  • Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, documentation, and resolution of security breaches.
  • Stay abreast of the latest security trends, threats, and technologies to ensure our defenses remain robust and proactive.
  • Manage security projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Report regularly to senior management on security posture, incident reports, and improvement plans.
