What IT Network & Telecommunications contributes to Cardinal Health

Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.

IT Network & Telecommunications designs, operates and maintains the organization's local and wide area networks and telecommunications systems and manages relationships with telecommunications service and maintenance vendors. This job family evaluates existing network systems and develops long-term strategies to ensure network capacity meets current and future network requirements. IT Network & Telecommunications performs technical analyses of software, hardware, and network systems as well as systems engineering for front-end processors, multiplexors, LAN/WAN communications, network nodes, switches, and various transmission systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (BS or MS in EE) preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in implementing complex network projects.β€’ At least 3 years of experience in networks supporting warehouse automation systems and robotics highly preferred.β€’ Proficiency in Aruba and Cisco Layer 3 switches and wireless solutions highly preferredβ€’ Hands-on experience with ClearPass, ServiceNow ITIL, CloudGenix ION preferred.β€’ Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCNP nice to have.β€’ Demonstrated ability in complex network design and implementation.β€’ Palo Alto experience is a nice to have.

Responsibilities

  • Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects
  • May contribute to the development of policies and procedures
  • Works on complex projects of large scope
  • Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
  • Solutions are innovative and consistent with organization objectives
  • Completes work; independently receives general guidance on new projects
  • Work reviewed for purpose of meeting objectives
  • May act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues
  • This is not an entry-level position. The candidate must be self-sufficient, able to work with minimal supervision, and capable of leading complex implementations within 6 weeks of joining.β€’ Willing to work two weekends per month and be on call for one week per month to support Tier 2 & 3 Clearpass as well as IoT network issues.β€’ Must be willing to travel to our international and domestic locations, approximately 5 to 10% of the time.

    The ideal candidate must be adept at handling real-world challenges and providing effective solutions. They will play a critical role in the success of our network infrastructure, particularly in our warehouse automation and IoT initiatives.

Anticipated salary range: $78,500.00 - $117,705.00
