The Network Engineer will play an integral role in our company's Information Technology Department by managing connectivity and infrastructure in the e-TeleQuote network. This includes monitoring ISP circuits, creating / modifying / troubleshooting network hardware, and generally maintaining the overall network infrastructure. This Network Engineer will configure Cisco ASA firewalls and network switches for our multiple office locations (8 total), as well as our managed equipment at the main datacenter.

In addition, this position will have the extra time to expand into other areas of responsibility as a backup to IT colleagues. Any experience with the preferred qualifications/skills below is not required but would certainly be a bonus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leading and participating in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, communication links, and routing protocols
• Experience and/or familiarity with different network troubleshooting tools
• Define and manage strategies for network redundancy
• Test network performance plus provide network presentation statistics
• Recommendations on best practices in areas related to the network infrastructure
• Ensure appropriate security levels on network and overall infrastructure
• Solid IT documentation and asset management skills (network diagrams, etc.)
• Work with vendors and contractors for network-specific products

Requirements

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• B.S. in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network administration

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Configuring Cisco ASA firewalls including site-to-site IPsec VPN tunnels
• Cisco network switch configurations
• General network troubleshooting (DNS, DHCP, SSH)
• Team oriented with collaborative working style
• Working knowledge of best practices and industry standards regarding deployments, day-to-day operation, upgrades, and migrations

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

• CCNA (or higher) certification

Experience with any of the following:

• Palo Alto Firewalls (2023 implementation at the main datacenter)
• Ruckus Cloud management of Wi-Fi access points at our remote offices
• SolarWinds Monitoring
• VMware vSphere and vCenter
• Maintenance of Windows and Linux Ubuntu Servers
