IT Operations Project Manager

About the Position

We are looking for a technical Project Manager who can provide organization and coordination support for our IT Operations teams’ project and business-as-usual initiatives. Technology is key to our business; this role will require you to deliver smart solutions in a fast-paced environment without disrupting the daily workflow.

This role sits within Jane Street’s IT Operations group, who are responsible for end-user setup, asset management, inventory, desktop technology relocation, IT equipment deployment, and support for infrastructure expansion projects. You will mostly work with our Moves-Adds-Changes (MAC) team, which manages our ever-changing hardware landscape as well as our Desktop Support team, which monitors a vast array of systems and troubleshoots back-end and end-user problems in real-time.

In addition to the MAC and Desktop Support teams, you will liase with individuals from Networking, Core Services, and Facilities to coordinate on existing and future projects. Additional responsibilities of this role will include:

• Communicating business and IT requirements to external vendors
• Preparing, arranging, organizing, and coordinating desk and technology equipment moves, adds, and changes on a rolling basis
• Monitoring project timelines and technical resources and providing technical support as needed
• Providing high-quality, informative written and verbal project communications, including weekly statuses, dashboards, and project updates
• Familiarizing yourself with our trading floor technology and how it fits into the larger operations of the firm
• Performing some physical labor, including lifting things up to 40lbs

About You

• Hands-on experience managing and executing technical projects
• Comfortable using project management planning tools (e.g., Jira, Gsuite, spreadsheets)
• Knowledgeable of computer hardware and peripherals, with a strong interest in developing your skills in desktop technology and infrastructure
• Able to comprehend the major fundamentals of any project to understand how your role fits into the bigger picture 
• Reliable, courteous, and a flexible team player
• Describes detailed problems with brevity and accuracy
• Can work autonomously with strong organizational skills
• Handles competing priorities in a challenging, fast-paced environment
• Is able to work evenings and weekends when required
• Fluency in English required
