Description:
•   Braskem Innovation and Technology is seeking an exceptional process engineer for conducting initiatives and projects at the frontier of technological knowledge, interface with technology licensors, start-ups, universities, hubs and research center, reporting for leadership of process development technology - I&T Process Area.Â
•   The ideal candidate will have process development background, technological knowledge from petrochemical or refinery processes and be a creative and innovative person.Â
Key Responsibilities Include:
- New opportunities to diversify and fortify our production chains from the prospection of the state of the art of the processes
- Supporting the search for feedstock alternatives and flexibility, energy consumption reduction and yields increase
- Support next processes generations platform on seeking for new processes development
- Identify gaps in technologies and seek solutions that will close these gaps in all areas
- Have a working knowledge of intellectual property
- Interface with Universities and consortiums.
- Manage fixed cost and capital budgets.
- Lead research and development projects for new technologies focusing on greater sustainability in the petrochemical chain.
- Develop technologies at different maturity levels up to the industrial scale.
- Prospect and evaluate innovative and disruptive technologies, through interaction with technology licensors, participation in events associated with petrochemical technologies, monitoring of international publications, online prospecting, etc., supporting the process of enriching ideas, identifying opportunities promising to compose the pipeline of projects
- Active interface with universities, start-ups and technology hubs seeking new technologies that may be of interest to Braskem
- Coordinate actions related to the structuring of strategic partnerships with relevant players (eg Technology Licensers, research institutions, industrial players, etc);
- Carry out technical-economic assessments, actively participating in the preparation and/or technical review of mass and energy balances, PFD's, Capex and Opex estimates, preliminary layouts, among others.
- Work with different areas of Braskem (eg, process and production engineering, laboratory, sustainability, innovation, intellectual property, etc.) in order to guarantee the development of projects.
- Support in the management of the project portfolio.
- Coordinate actions with the responsible interfaces for the development of legal instruments for cooperation and technological development, confidentiality agreements, service contracts, intellectual property assessments, among others.
Requirements:
•   BSc in Chemical Engineering
•   10+ years of Chemical process engineering or innovation and technology fields.Â
•   Intellectual Property experience, including assessing FTOÂ
•   Experience bringing Conceptual designs of processes to Pilot or Demonstration plant scale, up to commercialization
•   Experience in a Matrix organization, communicating budget and process needs in areas where you may have limited DOA.
•   Solid background on process engineering, process technology on petrochemical or refinery processes
•   PhD and MSc as a plus
•   Research and Development on Chemical Engineer fields
•   English is required, Portuguese desirable
•   Strong technical judgement to assess project decisions and timetables.
•   Profile with maturity and experience to lead initiatives/projects and participate in technical activities, with a balance between leadership/seniority skills and technical training in chemical engineering, processes, and technological development.
•   Experience in pilot plants, demo plants and interface with technology hubs as a plus
•   Ability and seniority to ensure good interpersonal relationships and people management, to work on projects and internal and external interfaces.
•   Knowledge of technical-economic evaluation techniques.
•   Knowledge of process simulators (Aspen and Hysys) as a plus
