What you will do
The role is directly reporting into the regional IT Portfolio & Resource Manager or Director IT PMO within the global CLARIOS IT. The role is responsible for managing IT programs on budget, schedule, scope, quality, value and customer satisfaction while upholding and ensuring global PMO governance and compliance standards.
Responsible for full life- cycle of IT programs from initiation to completion. Apply IT project management methodology and appropriate PMO framework for all programs (using established PMO standards). Develop requests for proposal (RFPs). Successfully initiate, plan, execute and close all program deliverables as committed.
How you will do it
General
- Responsible for promoting and enforcing CLARIOS IT methodologies and standards in program and project management, demand & change management and IT operational services.
- Work closely with other Project Managers, IT Lead and Business Lead as well as Steering Committee and other involved stakeholders on the individual IT program to ensure successful program execution and program benefit realization according to internal KPIs (IT3).
- Support the demand management process and portfolio process by professional analysis and reporting as appropriate.
- Assist with effective and efficient usage of program, portfolio & project management as well as demand and change management tools like Daptiv PPM.
IT Program Management
This role is responsible for managing the overall planning, execution and delivery of programs including:
- Defining the program charter, roles, tasks, milestones, budgets and measures of success
- Developing program estimates and plans to manage the end-to end program execution
- Ensuring requirements are captured accurately and completely
- Creating and maintaining program documentation
- Facilitating day-to-day coordination while adhering to standards and sponsor expectations
- Acting as the link between the assigned program resources and key stakeholders as well as between the different Project Managers under the program
- Ensuring program closure including completion of lessons learned and required documentation
- Using disciplined program/project management methodology to define scope, develop program plan, and execute programs that adhere to guidelines and deliver within cost and schedule.
- Strong cross-business unit/IT communication, influence and negotiation required.
- Identify interdependencies between subsequent projects under the program and track and manage towards overall program success and value realization.
Responsible for tracking program status and managing program issues and risks including:
- Monitoring programs on an ongoing basis, evaluating progress/quality, managing issue resolution
- Managing the process to assess gaps and develop action plans to address these gaps
- Monitoring financial delivery and issue management processes, and escalating issues
- Promoting and monitoring compliance activities with audit and information policies
- Developing robust program risk management plans to ensure timely delivery, testing and commissioning of all projects with no impact to business continuity.
Responsible for building and leading effective program/project teams including:
- Using problem-solving/critical thinking skills, and independent thinking to overcome challenges.
- Communication to program/project team members, key stakeholders and sponsors
- Adapting to cultural and organizational climates across global team.
- Manage individual work styles and development of program staff and of project managers of subsequent projects.
- Serve as primary contact to senior department managers for critical change initiatives within a highly matrix environment.
- Work with cross-functional team, contractors, and vendors to deliver IT programs and critical IT initiatives.
Team Management
Responsible for coaching and guiding contracted Project Managers and internal IT resources acting in the Project Manager role regarding professional project management operations and Clarios PMO governance. Support with onboarding process of new Project Managers from a PMO governance and PMO process & tools perspective.
Departmental:
Researches and recommends program and project portfolio priorities, program/project estimations, resolves procedural problems, assists with formulating departmental policy and procedures, recommends new or revised standards, procedures, and policies around areas of responsibility. Participates in forecasting and long-term planning, implements long-term plans, uses non-traditional/creative approaches to problem-solving, recommends new or revised standards, policies, etc. in areas of responsibilities.
What we look for
- BS Degree in Information Technology or similar field.
- Project Management Accreditation (APMP, PMI, Prince 2) or equivalent preferred.
- 8 Years of Project Management experience in a large multi unit organization required.
- Minimum of 3 years experience overseeing programs or large scale projects, global teams, project managers, application leads required.
- Experience using structured program/project management methodologies with agile SDLC methods.
- Experience with managing in house and contract staff; experience with off-shore development is beneficial.
- Experience in organizational change management and proven ability to establish process standardization and driving accountability by ensuring compliance and governance.
- Multi-lingual capabilities preferred
- Demonstrated IT leadership skills with a proven track record of success
- Advanced program and project management skills. Knowledge of program and project management vocabulary and terminology. Mastery of program/project domain.
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytic, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills. Cultural adaptability. Virtual and remote team management ability. Independent and innovative spirit. Flexible and responsive to input.
- Needs to demonstrate Servant Leadership. The program manager must demonstrate that he/she is there to help achieve the program outcomes/meet the needs of the customer.
- Willingness to travel internationally to support job responsibilities as required. (Approx. 20%).
