Job Description

About the Role: We are looking for an IT Program Manager to join our team. The Release Train Engineer (RTE) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful implementation of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) by orchestrating and facilitating the Agile Release Train (ART) through collaboration, removing impediments, and ensuring alignment among teams, stakeholders, and leaders.

This is a fully facility base position.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning events, collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and stakeholders to establish PI objectives and ensure their successful execution. Monitor and report on PI progress, identifying and addressing risks and issues that may impact the release
  • Organize and lead key ART events, including PI Planning, Inspect & Adapt (I&A) workshops, and Scrum of Scrum (SoS) meetings; foster collaboration and communication among Agile teams and stakeholders to ensure a smooth flow of information and alignment
  • Identify and remove impediments that hinder the progress of Agile teams within the ART; collaborate with Scrum Masters and teams to address issues and barriers to successful delivery
  • Drive a culture of relentless improvement within the ART, encouraging teams to reflect on their processes and implement changes for greater efficiency and quality; use metrics and feedback to identify areas for improvement and initiate actions to address them
  • Ensure alignment between the ART and organizational strategy, priorities, and objectives; facilitate communication and collaboration between teams and stakeholders, fostering a shared understanding of goals and progress
  • Provide guidance and coaching to Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and teams on Agile and SAFe practices; mentor Agile teams and individuals to enhance their understanding of SAFe principles and support their growth
  • Engage with Business Owners, Product Managers, and other key stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure their needs are met; act as a bridge between business and IT, fostering a strong partnership

Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant SAFe certifications include SAFe Program Consultant (SPC)
  • Additional Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or Certified Agile Coach can be beneficial
  • Minimum 5 years extensive experience working in an Agile environment, including roles such as Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or Project Manager
  • Minimum 10 years of strong background in managing large-scale projects or programs
  • Deep understanding of SAFe principles and practices
  • Proven leadership experience in leading cross-functional project teams at Gore
  • Proficiency in Agile project management tools like Jira
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong facilitation skills to manage meetings, workshops, and key ART events
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle the complexities of large-scale Agile implementations
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changes as needed
  • Ability to understand and work with technical teams, with a good grasp of software development and engineering practices
  • Ability to travel 20%
