We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a IT Project Manager on our Information Technology team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2 days a week in the office.

As an IT Project Manager you will perform day to day projectmanagement tasks required for the implementation of technology initiatives thathave been approved to support the strategic objectives of theorganization. Projects will vary indegree of scope and complexity. Representativeprojects may include, but will not be limited to, data center migrations,application database migrations, software licensing and renewal management. This individual is responsible for the financialplanning and timeline management of multiple initiatives that will beundertaken simultaneously. Thisindividual has accountability for the success or failure to deliver technicalprojects based on the timeline and budgets agreed to with executive management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manageprojects and maintains project plans, status, and issues. Resolve all project issues. Deliver projects on time, within budget andmeet quality standardsDirect development, testing, and implementation ofsystems. Provide management, oversight, and direction for project teammembers. Evaluate project and staffperformance
  • Enforcestandard technical direction and project priorities. Developrequirements for enhancements. Assistwith strategic planning, budgeting, contract initiation, and cross-projectresource sharing. Participate in thenegotiation of contracts for contractors and computer softwarepurchasing/licensing. Recognize andidentify potential areas where existing policies and procedures requirechange.
  • Providebusiness support for in-flight initiatives. Act as technical liaison to business by providing solution options. Work with client units to ensure high servicelevels.

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Minimum 3 years of project leadership, work scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, and status reporting.Ability to supervise technical resources on project tasks.
  2. Proficient at documentation and possess hands-on experience with a project management tools.Proven experience with deployment/release management.
  3. 4 year degree preferred or equivalent work experience required.
  4. Minimum 3 years of experience working within Information Technology with an understanding of the types of projects and functions is required.Experience operating as a liaison between the Information Technology and the rest of the business community is required.
  5. Experience in vendor management, negotiating and managing contracts, evaluating technology, and authoring Requests for Proposals.
  6. Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  7. Keen emotional intelligence - Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
  8. Passionate about producing high-quality technology solutions.
  9. Must possess a good sense of humor and a positive, "can-do" attitude.
  10. Ability to work long hours when necessary, to travel, attend educational events, and to meet with vendors and high-level business leaders.
