As the IT Project Manager, you will leverage strong technical skills and an in-depth understanding of business strategies, priorities, and initiatives to provide technology solutions that empower business leaders to gain insights and make strategic business decisions. You will champion enterprise-wide collaboration and develop close partnerships with both business and IT leaders in order to foster a deeper understanding of the business benefits of leveraging data, business intelligence, data analysis tools, and CRM capabilities. Additionally, you will:

  • Foster creation of best practices and sets standards for use of Tableau
  • Lead prioritization, design, development, and delivery of business intelligence solutions, database enhancements, data analysis tools, reports, dashboards, and CRM capabilities
  • Solve complex business and technical problems
  • Mentor others across the enterprise on Tableau new release capabilities and their business impact
  • Create training materials that can be used throughout the Tableau community and conduct training sessions
  • Share knowledge of multiple databases, data flows, and relationships across various sources
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for WSFGD/Touchstone data on enterprise-level projects
  • Institute appropriate testing methodologies and confirm they are implemented
  • Monitor production support activities for the department, assures issues are resolved, root cause identified when possible, and permanent solutions applied
  • Respond with flexibility to changing priorities and new project assignments
  • Work with minimal supervision and independently make a broad range of critical decisions, escalating to VPs and executive-level associates only when appropriate
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of business strategies, priorities, and initiatives
  • Put business needs and business benefits at the center of technology initiatives
  • Assure business value is attained
  • Develop partnerships and champion collaboration with business and IT leaders
  • Lead and participate in projects related to business intelligence, data initiatives, and CRM capabilities
  • Establish priority, create timelines, assure collaboration between business and IT, provide guidance to project team members, assign tasks, and monitor performance of team members
  • Assure business users agree that results meet or exceed expectations
  • Stay informed on new capabilities of business intelligence and data analysis tools by attending vendor conferences and participating in local forums and online communities
  • Mentor peers and IT teams across the enterprise on new capabilities and the potential business benefits
  • Design and maintain a curriculum for coaching and training business customers in the use of business intelligence tools
  • Share knowledge of multiple databases, data flows, and relationships across various sources
  • Lead the development of best practices for use of business intelligence tools and optimized data structure
  • Solve complex business and technical problems and frequently challenges proposed solutions to assure optimal results for the enterprise
  • Provide analysis and reporting to executives on confidential matters
  • Assist in the selection, negotiation, and management of technology relationships with vendors
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

What You'll Need to be Successful:

  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience
  • Proven strong experience in SQL, relational database knowledge, reporting, business intelligence, and CRM support
  • Demonstrated advanced experience with query, analysis, and business intelligence tools
  • Demonstrated strong technical knowledge of a variety of internal and external data sources; includes knowledge of data extract optimization to provide speed within business intelligence visualizations
  • Demonstrated ability to understand overall business objectives and establish appropriate priority across multiple projects
  • Proven strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to interact successfully with all levels of associates, including senior executives using both business-friendly terminology and technical language with IT associates
  • Demonstrated experience developing partnerships with business and IT leaders
  • Demonstrated leadership across all phases of conceptualization, design, development, testing, training, and support of data and business intelligence solutions
  • Proven experience leading the development of best practices and standards for use of business intelligence tools, optimized data structure, and best methods to deliver meaningful insights back to the business partners
  • Proven ability to challenge solutions in order to assure best results for the business
  • Proven experience defining curriculum for coaching and training business customers in the use of business intelligence tools
  • Demonstrated ability to reduce uncertainty and to manage ambiguity
  • Ability to deal constructively with problems that do not have clear solutions
  • Demonstrated adaptability to adjust to multiple demands, deadlines, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change
  • Proven dependable team leader
  • Advanced SQL (Oracle, SQL Server) and relational database knowledge
  • Working knowledge of ETL and Dimensional Data Modeling concepts
  • Demonstrated experience using tools like Informatica PowerCenter for supporting data mappings and workflows
  • Advanced BI/reporting tool knowledge required (Tableau, Cognos, Crystal Reports, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience with Tableau Data Management Add-on and support of complex data security/role level access
  • Demonstrated Tableau Server level skills including subscriptions, content permissions, and entitlements
  • Use of Motio CI for Cognos configuration management and migration across environments (development, staging/production)
  • Experience supporting upgrades and version management, including testing, and migration planning
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and report development applications

Great Additional Skills:

  • Tableau, Cognos, or CRM certifications
  • Exposure to CRM tools such as SalesPage, and Salesforce
  • Experience in the financial services industry
