Raymour Flanigan IT Project Manager -- Liverpool, NY
Raymour and Flanigan's Project Manager role is the bridge between management, stakeholders and cross-functional teams tasked with the execution and responsibility of a project. The Project Manager is responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, communication, and completion of the project while remaining aligned with the strategy, commitments and goals of the organization. This may include utilizing selected staff from various internal departments, as well as external resources.
Relationship Focus
- Collaboration with business leaders, executives, and IT peers while driving prioritization, consensus and alignment across the enterprise.
- Working alongside an Agile Portfolio/Program Team framework and Waterfall PMO structure.
- Facilitating communication and collaboration across teams in both Waterfall and Agile environments in cooperation with business partners as enterprise level technology decisions are made.
- Articulating ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers, vendors and others.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzing potential projects, business strategies and models to determine their viability, as well as identifying and initiating corrections necessary to fix weaknesses in performance.
- Responsible for producing formal project level documentation such as charter/PID, scope, resource planning, communication plans, project plans, implementation plans, rollout plan, change control, risk assessments, lessons learned/retrospectives and ROI assessment upon project closure.
- Strong management skills, ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point, strong relationship building skills communication skills.
- Plan, outline, define and implementation of projects.
- Adhering to document control policies, templates and supporting best practices.
- Define and lock project scope, goals, resources, tasks, milestones and deliverables.
- Facilitating and managing cross functional project teams.
- Allocate project resources successfully.
- Creation of schedules, plans and project timelines.
- Track deliverables and proactively communicate reminders with team or business partners.
- Support and direct team on a daily basis.
- Manage budget and scope through the project lifecycle.
- Proactively monitor and report project progress, impediments and solutions with the ability to present and communicate to Ability to evaluate, assess, document and articulate the result of the project
- Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs.
- Manage customer relationships and expectations by following a consistent communication plan to keep stakeholders informed of project progress and results.
- Collaboration with stakeholders and IT teams regularly to review project deliverables and deadlines.
- Understand and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders. Stay current with customer needs and strategies; utilizing formal and informal written communication methods to communicate updates and findings.
- Facilitating project meetings and presentations to all types of diverse audiences including senior management, peers and technical staff.
- Ability to manage multiple projects working independently and within a fast-paced team environment.
- Other duties as asigned.
- Ability to travel is required.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Project management qualification (PMP) or 7+ years' experience as project manager having managed and been responsible for large scale projects.
- Experience leading mid, large to enterprise level complex projects 12+ months in duration.
- The ability to influence and build consensus among leaders.
- Proficient in managing and leading cross-functional teams who works well under pressure.
- Understanding of software development life cycle.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong collaboration and facilitation skills.
- Excellent relationship building/management and communication skills.
- Problem-solving and leadership skills.
- Strategic planning, risk management, time management and resource management skills.
- Proficiency in project management software tools.
- Conflict resolution experience.
