IT Project Manager - Contract

Job Summary

At Mycoworks, the IT Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing technology projects within different areas of IT organization. The position will also be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget while meeting the defined objectives and quality standards. The IT Project Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate with stakeholders, and use their technical expertise to drive successful project outcomes.

This role could be Hybrid or Remote.  This role will be contract for up to 6 months.

Responsibilities:

• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and milestones in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Develop detailed project plans, including tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Coordinate and manage project team members, assigning tasks and individual responsibilities.
• Monitor project progress, track milestones, and ensure adherence to the project plan.
• Ensure all key action items, decisions, due dates, and task ownership are clearly defined and documented.
• Manage resources effectively to ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that could impact project success.
• Communicate project status, updates, and key decisions to stakeholders and team members.
• Foster clear communication channels to facilitate collaboration and information sharing.
• Identify, assess, and prioritize risks, developing contingency plans as needed.
• Implement strategies to minimize potential project risks and resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure project deliverables meet established quality standards and requirements.
• Conduct regular reviews and testing to verify that project outcomes align with business and technology requirements.
• Overseeing Go-Live preparations, including creating activity checklists, runbooks and managing post implementation activities collaboratively with stakeholders.
• Develop and manage the project budget, monitoring expenses and resource allocation.
• Make necessary adjustments to maintain budget compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand their requirements and expectations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, addressing concerns and gathering feedback.
• Facilitate the implementation of changes and enhancements to project scope as necessary.
• Manage stakeholder expectations regarding changes and their potential impacts.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in Project Management of IT software implementations.
• Bachelors degree is preferred and PMP certification and Microsoft certifications or similar technical certifications are a plus.
• Ability to lead cross-functional projects and project teams of various sizes and see them through to completion.
• Experience in implementation of large scale, enterprise-wide software business applications like ERP, CRM, WMS, etc.
• Knowledge of MS Project, Smartsheet or similar online PM tools.
• Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand business fundamentals and system processes.
• Past experience in supporting enterprise-scale applications, infrastructure, or devices is a plus.
• Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies
• Ability to interact and communicate for impact with all levels of an organization both internally and externally, including business and technical.
• Experience in managing projects in Agile and Waterfall methodologies is helpful.
• Project budget management experience
• Excellent people management skills and ability to lead cross-functional project teams.
• Ability to multi-task with good organizational and time management capabilities.
