Description

SCT is seeking an IT Project Manager to support NASA’s Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer's (OCHCO) information technology projects and initiatives designed to deliver Human Capital applications and technologies to the organization and the NASA workforce. Support will include a broad range of activities for Agency-wide and Center assessments, projects, and initiatives, and the continuous identification of enhancements to methods, processes, or systems to improve effectiveness and efficiency, and as required, technical, analytical, or consulting services requests.

The IT project manager shall have detailed knowledge of project management and business operations such as master scheduling, reporting and briefing, data analysis, business process design, documentation and mapping, and user stories.

The position is badged to NASA HQ in Washington, DC but will be performed remotely.

Duties

  • Support business operations such as, but not limited to analysis, reporting, creation of presentations, project scheduling, risk management, and general project management/support 
  • Responsible for the evaluation of operational requirements relative to HC requirements.
  • Collect data in accordance with plans, as well as verify and analyze data to identify trends and potential problems; recommend program modifications, as applicable.
  • Prepare analysis showing the pros and cons of various courses of action and suggest implications and possible effects of research findings to contribute to general knowledge and support decisions.
  • Create reports of findings, conduct analyses, write reports and prepare/deliver presentations.
  • Establish criteria for evaluating and tracking metrics and lead or assist in special projects or initiatives as requested.
  • Research alternatives and recommendations on issues pertaining to program areas to assess the effectiveness of programs and policies.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable software policies, and computer-based business information systems including web, database systems, reporting and management of information.
  • Customer consultations and requirements (user story) development with acceptance criteria
  • Executes general project management support, including Planning & Scheduling, Risk & issue management, Ongoing monitoring & reporting on progress, Documentation and Knowledge Management Support, Communication & Change Management
  • May include occasional travel

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in a related field of study with 1 year of experience, or bachelor’s degree with 4 years of experience in appropriate area of specialization, or 6 years of experience with no degree
  • Minimum 1 year of consulting experience preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of SCRUM / Agile practices, concepts, and procedures 
  • Detailed knowledge and experience implementing IT project management practices, supporting tools, and/or agile scrum practices 
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Project
  • Ability to proactively lead and manage assigned workstream
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to lead/facilitate client meetings

Salary: $105k-$125k

Location: Remote
