IT Security Engineer

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an IT Security Engineer with extensive experience designing and implementing security solutions to help us ensure the safety of our systems and data. Candidates should be excited about staying on the front end of the ever-changing security landscape while actively working with a strong team of IT professionals to build out real world security solutions.

Occasional onsite work will be required. For this reason, candidates should live in Texas. Apex may offer a relocation for those wishing to relocate to the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Responsibilities

In addition to collaborating with cross-functional teams and security vendors, The IT Security Engineer will recommend, develop, implement and maintain solutions including:

• Identity Management, access control, data security, processes and procedures, and protective technology solutions
• Risk Detection for potential breaches including monitoring, vulnerability scanning, event monitoring, and log management
• Threat Response planning, communication, analysis, mitigation, and continuous improvement
• Security Awareness training

Education/Experience/Training

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in information security, secure systems design, access management, threat analysis and remediation.
• Experience with Windows and Linux based systems.
• Experience working with web applications and browser security, security assessments, penetration testing, identity and access control, and event monitoring and intrusion detection.
• Technical network (e.g., CCNA, CCNP Security) and security certifications (e.g., CISA, CISSP, GCIH) preferred.
• Knowledge of authentication protocols (TACACS, RADIUS, 802.1x) core network security principles and up-to-date understanding of modern attack patterns and threat vectors.
