Your Role

This Graduate level Internship provides an excellent opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience in achieving business results while developing technical and professional skills in the area of information and cyber security. The selected candidate will be a part of Genworth's Data Security and Cybersecurity program and will be provided exposure to a variety of security tasks.

What You Will Be Doing

In this role, you will support Information Security operations activities, monitor and analyze threats, and improve/automate processes with the overall goal to be improving the security posture of the Genworth. Specific projects will be based on business need and intern interests, but some example activities include:

• Perform proactive research and identification of groups attempting to target users.
• Work with a variety of cybersecurity tools to investigate, conduct tactical and strategic analysis, draft risk assessments, and disseminate your findings to stakeholders.
• Design, build, and operate innovative tools to enhance our security.
• First response and remediation for security vulnerability incidents.
• Partner with other members of the information systems security team to develop scalable solutions to security problems across various domains and technologies.

Must Have/What You Bring

• You are pursuing a Master's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field of study.
• You have interest and experience in cyber security via prior internships, coursework, and/or personal projects.
• You have foundational knowledge in information security
• Desire to work in the insurance, banking, or financial services industries
