Job Description

We are seeking an  IT Sr. Project Manager to join our growing IT organization. This role delivers results in a fast-paced, deadline­ driven environment and requires the ability to handle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously within an agile framework. The Sr. PM must demonstrate strong leadership, meticulous planning skills and proactive communications and risk management. The Sr. PM will manage relationships with project stakeholders, IT resources, and senior/executive business management. They will serve as a strategic business partner and trusted advisor to the business in a highly visible management role. The Sr. PM understands CPI’s business and processes which helps them lean into their projects and ensure the solutions deliver value. They will monitor and report project progress using detailed plans, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks and issues, and constantly ensure project communications are flowing.  The successful candidate must be a high energy, resourceful, creative, team-oriented, and hands-on leader passionate about on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of project activity, including estimation, initiation, planning, execution, implementation and closure.
  • Deliver projects on time and on budget and effectively identify issues and solutions to keep the team on track.
  • Create a detailed project plan across all phases of the project. Plans must have clear tasks that allow the PM to effectively manage the work and track progress daily. 
  • Create a project budget forecast and track actuals weekly at a minimum.
  • Schedule formal project team meetings and proactively pull the team together on an ad hoc basis to keep everyone apprised of project changes, issues, and next steps.
  • Hold project team members accountable to on-time delivery per the tasks and milestones and escalate to management early for assistance.
  • Work with IT and business leadership teams to determine project scope, goals, stakeholders, skills and the roles required to deliver the project
  • Partner with project resources to quickly determine high level estimates including rough delivery timeframes and cost ranges based on scope
  • Manage the requirements or user story creation process working closely with Business Analysts and stakeholders to build a detailed plan and timeline to finish requirements and monitor and report progress or risks and issues. Be well versed on the requirements to help ensure the subsequent phases of the project deliver the documented needs of the business.
  • Ensure the technical design is created by the project architect and engineering team and understand the design approach so you can more effectively manage the build plan.
  • Manage project sprint plans, their execution meetings and artifacts.
  • Work with the business stakeholders to ensure training and UAT expectations are understood and accounted for in the original project plan.
  • Deliver professional project status reports on a consistent basis
  • Responsible for managing multiple projects and change requests simultaneously
  • Responsible for proving though leadership to the project management team and implementing ways to make the entire delivery process more effective and efficient.

  • Excellent verbal and written skills, ability to present proposals and performance data, comfortable interfacing all levels of organization.

Required Certifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree Required or relevant experience
  • Project Management Certifications Preferred
  • 10+ years of IT project management or similar experience
  • Experience with enterprise change processes and methodologies (Agile / Scrum)
  • Experience with formal project management tools and software
  • Experience managing large projects simultaneously (software development projects preferred)
  • Experience with Salesforce
