The Research IT organization delivers innovative technical and analytical solutions to aid, accelerate, and support work done across the Lilly Research Laboratories and beyond. This team uses advanced insights, differentiated experiences and technical innovation, to deliver products, services, and experiences to customers.

The Research IT team is looking for a software engineer to join them. Are you a self-starter who likes to solve problems with code? Do you like to turn ideas into IT solutions? If so, please apply.

What You'll Bring:
• Desire to learn scientific language and needs. Participate on scientific discussions as a tactical partner and become the technical SME
• Collaborate with the Research architects & architecture community to expand and improve the Publication and Visualization capability as it supports Research apps & data science work
• Design and implement system architecture for data analysis, publication, and visualization solutions
• Work as a technical SME within the team to define, develop, and own technology modernization roadmaps for the Research IT team
• Accountable for delivering initiative technical capabilities using Agile development processes
• Drive workable, simple (where possible) solutions with a re-use methodology to promote future reduced "time-to-value"

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (IT) or Science (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics)
• 2+ years professional experience as a software engineer or research science.
