Role Overview:

The IT Solution Architect for Supply Chain will design and collaborate on a roadmap of Supply Chain Management and Operations solutions that deliver products to market faster for S&N Globally. The Supply Chain Solution Architect will partner with related Product Owners and Product Directors to ensure the design and deployment of quality system solutions that consolidates all Supply Chain Management, Planning and Operations software into a core set of solutions that reduces the overall application footprint.

The IT Solution Architect will simplify the Supply Chain business on a common core set of applications that will drive delivery of products to market faster. The architect will own all design for Supply Chain technical solutions that will deliver the desired business outcomes. Solutions will need to be in alignment with enterprise architecture standards published by Enterprise Architecture function. Solutions will need to meet quality requirements, technical constraints, and performance requirements. The IT Solution Architect will oversee the quality of output arising from solution build and be responsible for acceptance of the technical integrity and architectural compliance of the solution. The architect will work with both on premise and cloud based technologies to design the optimal solution for the customer.

Responsibilities:

  • Owns architecture for complex IS/IT solutions to be deployed for S&N Supply Chain operations related projects (releases and/or rollouts) including architectural requirements gathering, fit/gap analysis, sprint reviews, cloud maturity, training, functional specification approvals, automated testing, configuration, data conversion and solution governance in a Hybrid on premise and cloud architecture.
  • Ensures solution consistency and assists in facilitating the change leadership interventions within Supply Chain Management/Operations and contributes to the Supply Chain IT continuous improvement by assessing impact of the new requests on the core architecture.
  • Focus on continuous improvement, keeping up with industry and proactively advising the business of new capabilities that can help them support the company growth and strategy.
  • Performs Level 3 support for Supply Chain Management Enterprise software. Updates documentation & practices and constantly looks for new ways to 'Shift Left' Supply Chain IT support so lower cost models can be successful globally.

Key Skills and Responsibilities (SFIA based):

Requirements definition and management - REQM - Level 4

Contributes to selection of the requirements approach for projects, selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches. Defines and manages scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for initiatives of medium size and complexity. Facilitates input from stakeholders, provides constructive challenge and enables effective prioritisation of requirements. Reviews requirements for errors and omissions. Establishes the requirements base-lines, obtains formal agreement to requirements, and ensures traceability to source. Investigates, manages, and applies authorised requests for changes to base-lined requirements, in line with change management policy.

Data modelling and design - DTAN - Level 4

Investigates corporate data requirements, and applies data analysis, design, modelling, and quality assurance techniques, to establish, modify or maintain data structures and their associated components (entity descriptions, relationship descriptions, attribute definitions). Provides advice and guidance to database designers and others using the data structures and associated components.

Service acceptance - SEAC - Level 5

Engages with technical design and project managers or Project Management Office, to ensure correct products are produced, in a timely fashion. Evaluates the quality of project outputs against agreed service acceptance criteria.

Solution architecture - ARCH - Level 6

Leads the development of architectures for complex solutions, ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external, and internal customers. Takes full responsibility for the balance between functional, service quality and systems management requirements within a significant area of the organisation. Establishes policy and strategy for the selection of solution architecture components, and co-ordinates design activities, promoting the discipline to ensure consistency. Ensures that appropriate standards (corporate, industry, national and international) are adhered to. Within a business change programme, manages the target design, policies and standards, working proactively to maintain a stable, viable architecture and ensure consistency of design across projects within the programme.

Specialist advice - TECH - Level 6

Provides organisational leadership and guidelines to promote the development and exploitation of specialist knowledge in the organisation. Maintains a network of recognised experts (inside and/or outside the organisation) who can deliver expert advice in areas relevant to the organisation's current and future needs. Provides input into professional development planning across a significant part of the organisation to further the development of appropriate expertise.

Systems design - DESN - Level 5

Adopts and adapts appropriate systems design methods, tools and techniques selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches, and ensures they are applied effectively. Designs large or complex systems. Undertakes impact analysis on major design options and trade-off. Makes recommendations and assesses and manages associated risks. Reviews others' systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology. Ensures that the system design balances functional and non-functional requirements. Contributes to development of systems design policies and standards and selection of architecture components.

Location: Memphis, TN (preferred), Andover, MA, Mansfield, MA, Austin, TX, Fort Worth, TX and/or Pittsburgh, PA.

** Will also consider remote candidates based in the US, Costa Rica and/or Canada. **

Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology or similar degree required

Languages: English

Licenses/ Certifications: APICS, SAFe, Agile CSM, preferred

Experience:

  • Will have held roles in the Supply Chain Management, Planning and Operations Business Solution Architecture workspace for at least 8 years
  • -Experience working with cloud based methodologies and toolsets.
  • -Experience with DevOps
  • -Experience with AGILE project methodology and practice preferred

Physical Demands: Office (PC/Phone) and meeting based work with occasional International travel

Travel Requirements: < 25% (all travel is restricted and based on current Company covid guidelines)

The anticipated compensation range for this position is $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 USD annually and the compensation offered will depend on the candidate's qualifications. You may also be entitled to receive bonus and benefits, which may include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k, tuition reimbursement, medical leave programs, and a variety of wellness offerings.
