IT Solutions Architect - NATIONWIDE REMOTE Summary:

The IT Solutions Architect leads the process of developing product solutions that aligns with the enterprise architecture from a business, process, information and technology standpoint. They provide the leadership, facilitation, analysis and design tasks required to ensure software products and platforms are designed and evolve appropriately. The Solutions Architects exist within the teams that directly support business and IT functions. They become involved with a project at the time of inception and are involved in the analysis of developing the initial requirements. They are expected to work with a broad range of technologies and own the product solutions blueprint from inception to production. Solutions Architects collaborate with a number of different teams, which will include all other functions of the Architecture team to determine which technologies to use. They also work very closely with Engineering to ensure proper implementation based on the initial design and Enterprise and Security Architecture guidelines.

Essential Duties:

• Evaluate technologies for specific services and products and have an understanding of the Enterprise Architecture guidelines. They will facilitate the research, evaluation and selection of software technology for specific programs and projects while following the Enterprise, Security and Data guidelines to make sure enterprise integration is considered.
• Research build or buy options and make recommendations to leadership on which direction will provide the most value.
• Participate in RFI/RFP initiatives for solutions that require new vendor products and help select the vendor product that best aligns with project goals.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Enterprise, Technical Architecture as well as Engineering to develop high-level product solutions that delivers business value quickly and efficiently while also supporting long-term product goals.
• Create, maintain and communicate solution architecture documents and design directives with business and IT leaders for buy in and sign-off.
• Document and communicate immediate and long-term technical risks to the product direction including dependencies on external systems.
• Responsible for ensuring adherence to the high-level solution blueprint throughout the life of the project/program and review any proposed deviations and risks with the stakeholders.
• Participate with product teams in activities ranging from strategic planning to design reviews with a focus on the needs and integration of individual systems. Provide input for managing lifecycles and roadmaps of the individual business programs.
• Analyze current and new platforms to determine direction for additional technologies and features such as cloud, mobile and application readiness and roadmap.
• Support innovation efforts and identify technology and solution roadmaps to improve capabilities.
• Collaborates with other Solutions Architects and maintains documentations for solution architecture patterns that can be leveraged across multiple products and platforms.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
• Microsoft Azure certifications preferred

TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS

• Excellent communication skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with Leadership and Project team members required
• Knowledge and understanding of SDLC, Software Architecture patterns and API programming required
• Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies required
• Must be a self-starter and have the analytical skills required for the job

EXPERIENCE

• 10+ years of application development and implementation experience required
• 3+ years of architecture experience in application development required
• Prior experience in a similar role for implementing mission critical and complex software solutions leveraging cloud platforms required
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies required
• Experience architecting solutions in an agile project required
• Experience in Financial Services industry preferred
