This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Information Technology Management (INFOSEC) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • One year/probationary period may be required.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position (Practitioner). Selectee must meet position requirements for Information Technology Certification within 60 months.
  • Obtain and Maintain Top Secret Clearance.
  • Position requires Temporary duty (TDY) travel of up to 10% of the time within and outside of the Continental United States (CONUS).
  • Direct Deposit required.
  • This is a Defense Cyberspace Workforce Framework (DCWF) position eligible for certification as outlined in DoDD 8140.02 - Cyberspace Workforce Management.
  • This is a testing designated position. Personnel must pass drug screening prior to hiring and will be subject to periodic and random drug testing, thereafter.

In order to qualify, you must meet the Experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirements IT Specialist GS-2210-13- IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below, based on the grade-level required, at this position being filled.

(1)Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others.
(2)Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
(3)Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
(4)Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

AND
Specialized Experience- One year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent pay band level in the Federal Service which includes work that involves1 ) Evaluating system compliance with IT cybersecurity requirements and presenting finalized reports; AND 2) Performing IT/cybersecurityvulnerability assessments as required by directives; AND 3) Recommending countermeasures to mitigate evolving Cybersecurity requirements as they apply to existing systems.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS- 12].
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
  • Cybersecurity
  • Information Technology Performance Assessment
  • Organizational Awareness

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirements using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
