Job Description
Summary
This position is located in the Indian Health Service (IHS), Office of Information Technology (OIT), Division of Health Information Technology and Modernization (DHITMO), Rockville, MD. DHITMO is responsible for all aspects of various Health Information Technology (HIT) modernization initiatives and the full lifecycle of comprehensive support services that accompany major agency HIT investments. This position is remote. This position reports to the DHITMO Deployment Manager, DHITMO Director.

Background Investigation: If you are selected for this vacancy, you must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint check and background investigation. Qualifications
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Experience
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

Specialized Experience for GS-13: Positions require one year of specialized experience at the next lower GS-grade (or equivalent). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. The employing agency is responsible for defining the specialized experience based on the requirements of the position being filled.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples include:- Experience leading or serving on a team responsible for the planning and coordinating in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrade of enterprise-wide Information Technology projects, systems and/or initiatives.
- Experience associated with interfacing commercial Electronic Health Record (EHR) with external systems such as accounting, scheduling, mailing, billing, and other administrative applications.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing interfaces between commercial Electronic Health Records (EHR) and external systems to provide system inter-operability while adhering to statutory, functional, and non-functional requirement
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
