The primary purpose of this position is to serve as senior Information Technology (IT) specialist and consultant to management in support of ACC, 16 AF, 688 CW and 688 OSS IT policies and plans.

- All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
- The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Special Sensitive Security Clearance with access to sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A Non-Disclosure agreement must be signed.
- If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations. If receiving an authorized PCS, you may be subject to completing/signing a CONUS agreement. More information on PCS requirements, may be found at: https://afciviliancareers.com/regulatory/
- This posn is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
- Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal and Regulatory Guide
- Overtime may be required as workload demands and in some cases with no-notice due to urgency of time-sensitive matters. Shift work will be required during periods of mission execution.
- POLYTRAPH: Incumbent must pass initial and continued periodic short-notice drug testing.
- TDY travel may be required by military and/or commercial aircraft or any other mode of transportation determined to be advantageous to the government.
- This position includes Information Assurance work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within 6 months of assignment of these duties.

This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of a wide range of IT principles, concepts, methods, advancements, policies, design, development, testing and applications, both hardware and software sufficient to assess the organization's IT business requirements and convince management toward a specific course of action. Knowledge of the organization's policy and planning formulation process along with its missions, goals, and objectives to prepare IT polices and plans. Knowledge of organizational acquisition requirements, budgetary techniques, and financial status sufficient to identify needs and recommend adjustment of IT funding priorities. Knowledge of management requirements sufficient to render recommendations on development of new IT products verses purchase of off-the-shelf programs. Knowledge of systems architecture, integration techniques, and testing methods sufficient to conduct feasibility studies. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of IT principles, concepts, and methods.
2. Knowledge of the organization's policy and planning formulation process along with its missions and objectives to prepare IT polices and plans.
3. Knowledge of network operating and maintenance concepts and methods to troubleshoot network problems.
4. Ability to analyze complexities of existing technology, review/revise/develop policy, initiate plans for
enhancements, and provide management sufficient technical and cost analysis information, through written documentation and oral briefings, to render informed judgments.
5. Ability to gather facts and use effective analytical and evaluative methods to assess information, plan the sequence of actions necessary, make sound decisions, and solve a variety of network problems; and to analyze component interrelationships and evaluate network systems and computer applications from an operational perspective.
6. Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances and predict how management can meet future requirements.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
