IT Specialist - Profitability

Avient has embarked on a multi-year journey to enhance our customer, supplier, vendor and associate experience through an enhanced ERP system! We are looking for a highly motivated Finance Specialist to join our IT team and play a pivotal role in this exciting project by helping us bring cutting edge solutions and innovation to our business operations. Through this project, incumbents will have an opportunity to make a positive impact on Avient's success and achieve exposure to all levels of leadership.

Our Avient IT team is seeking a Finance specialist to work with a talented team of associates to design and build a finance application landscape as part of a broader ERP implementation. In this role, you will work with IT and business associates to evaluate our current finance application landscape, design a refreshed application landscape and implement the newly designed solution. This role proactively collaborates with internal business partners and other IT colleagues to develop solutions that enable Avient to achieve its growth targets, build on our Great Place to Work certification, and meet its sustainability commitments.

Essential Functions

• Engages with a broad project team to implement S/4 HANA, the latest version of SAP, which is replacing multiple SAP ECC platforms

• Examines current business procedures, system practices and IT designs and recommends new improved solutions

• Assists with the identification of business requirements, challenging business partners to identify critical needs for both the current and future state, then works to translate those requirements into functional and system specifications to satisfy those requirements

• Works proactively with partners, both business and consultants, to ensure the work within the S/4 landscape and related applications are aligned with key project initiatives

• Works with business partners to identify test cases, then executes on the related scripts, documents results, and works across teams to redesign processes as needed

• Serves as a technical lead on individual aspects of the S/4 implementation, managing subprojects of small to medium size and complexity

• Supports all phases of the S/4 implementation, including Design, Build, Testing, Training and Deployment

• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is required
• 5+ years' experience as an SAP FICO analyst is required
• Robust experience and demonstrated expertise with SAP Profitability Analytics (COPA) including Product Costing, Profit Center Accounting and related Master Data elements is required
• Technical understanding of FI modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Fixed Assets is required

Additional Qualifications

• Strong collaboration skills within a team, across other IT functions, and with global business partners is required

• Experience in a global manufacturing environment with cross-border transactions and multiple legal entities is required

• Experience on a global S/4 implementation with multiple business units and legal entities is preferred

• Experience integrating S/4 with 3rd party applications such as Concur, Coupa and OneSource is preferred
