PeopleCert is looking for a IT Support Engineer who will be responsible for the support of various IT activities. You will contribute your domain specific knowledge, skills and best practices working closely with a team of talented professionals who have created an ISO 27001 certified operational environment operating on 24/7 basis, based on a hybrid infrastructure with heavy virtualization on Cloud and Office 365 services.


As an IT Support Engineer, your tasks will include the following:

  • Provide Tier 1, diagnosis and resolution to end-users (Clients) for PC hardware and standard software related incidents;
  • Conduct meetings with clients to diagnose and repair software, networking, or hardware issues, malfunctions and problems;
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of new and existing software and hardware (e.g. printing systems, audio/visual systems and corporate Pcs);
  • Monitor efficiency and assist in troubleshooting of the company’s critical systems;
  • Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes;
  • Liaise with facilities team and support with office moves, meeting rooms' setups and exam room equipment;
  • Support the IT Support Manager in delivering end-users exploitation and training initiatives on IT tools;
  • Provide all documentation and descriptions required for purchasing order items;
  • Maintain the security standards of the organization.


What we look for:

  • University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related fields;
  • Basic IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA IT Fundamentals, CompTIA A+) and familiarity with Windows/Mac OS environments and basic networking concepts is preferred;
  • Proven work experience in supporting end users with desktop hardware, software, and network connectivity issues, resolving technical issues, maintaining hardware and software installations;
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material and communicate with various levels of management;
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and work effectively under the pressure of time constraints in a fast-paced, collaborative environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with a β€œcan do β€œ attitude;
  • Excellent command of the English language (C2 level certification desired, or certificate would be a plus);
  • Professional with self-presentation and social skills with a friendly attitude;
  • Superb attention to detail;
  • Strong work ethic, team spirit and excellent problem-solving skills.

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)

Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.

If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:

  • A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)
  • HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
  • Financial background check
  • Employment reference check.
  • If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.

In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
