About the opportunity
The IT Support Engineer (Tier 1) will work closely with our Information Technology Manager and Support team. Our Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to all departments across all technology platforms. This role will support day-to-day IT operations using Slack, Zoom, and our help desk ticket system. A personable and empathic approach to support is a key component of this role as you focus on keeping the various business units up and running while presenting ideas to make them more productive going forward.
This is a great opportunity to develop and implement processes and projects to support staff as we build an IT team to support company growth. You will learn a broad range of skills and help shape culture and strategic direction.
The IT Support Engineer will report directly to the Information Technology Manager and the location for this role is San Francisco.
What you’ll do
- IT Support: Provide support for several applications, and provision and maintain accounts.
- Troubleshooting: Configure and troubleshoot issues in an Apple and PC environment.
- Onboarding: Setup and onboard new hires, hardware, and peripherals.
- IT Systems: Manage IT Ticketing system queues and identify training opportunities
- Instill policies: Help shape and enforce IT Standard Operating procedures and security policies
- Multi-task: Coordinate and oversee a wide range of IT projects
- IT Inventory: Manage IT inventory in addition to enterprise-wide asset tracking
- Documentation: Build and maintain internal and user-facing documentation for all managed services.
- Flexibility: Occasional on-call rotation
What you’ll bring
- Experience: 1+ years of IT Support experience required
- Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Software/Hardware: GSuite, Mac OS, Windows, OKTA, and Ticketing System
- Network: A basic understanding of network troubleshooting principles is beneficial
- IT Infrastructure: Basic understanding of Information Technology Infrastructure practices is a major plus
- Certifications: CompA+/Apple certification or equivalent certification is beneficial
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Technology-related field preferred
